I like them both, but the Space one stands out more - they are both very well done and look forward to more new Idents in the future! Laughing

It seems that generally TV channels idents get more adventurous and inventive when the second batch come in. Hopefully we will get more like these with interesting ideas and a feeling of them being epic. I'd like to see 3 or 4 ready for the autumn season.

Just noticed at 2 junctions earlier today, BBC 1 Scotland played out Magic Forest to 30", but they were both Short versions - so at about 20 seconds the picture would freeze though the music continued.

Was this the same anywhere else? I got the impression they simply didn't have the long version to hand - at least, that's what it seemed like.

Possible - it would explain why Scotland took the network feed for the first airing rather than using a Scotland version.

its good new idents have came out, dose anyone have any predictions on when the circles will be replaced and what will replace them

I think people will eventually get bored with circles after a while and i definatley dont think they will last as long as the balloon or rythem and movment idents

You'd better be joking.

After spending £6 million on these idents I very much doubt anybody is thinking of replacing them any time soon. The rhythm and movement (note spelling) idents got much more negative feedback than the circles but still lasted 4.5 years - and they didn't cost as much as the circles.

To conclude, they're less than a year old and I can see it will at least another three years before they even contemplate replacing them, and as to what it will be, it is impossible to predict as we don't know where television will be by then.

As was demonstrated with the bold and innovative techniques used in "Music Video".

I don't know- it just annoys me when they put it on before the NEWS! I mean it is ok for football and sports shows but the news!

Oh I see! That's a very good point.

I felt the same way with the dancers when they used to show Haka before the news. I thought, for God's sake show some respect.

Well apart from the cruddy dancers.

No no no they faded in from nothing - by far the most exciting event in the entire collection. Well apart from Tai Chi Rotation, but that was quickly shelved.
