It was all just for fun really, but I didn't want it to look too 'tacked on'.

The balloon footage was originally of it floating across the the land with a horizontal tracking - I had to 'blank out' the land below (upper half was sky), try and fade the colour from top to bottom so that it would appear to be the balloon and just pure sky. Resaved as video and then keyed onto each ident.

In the case of Capoeira, the balloon's course was admittedly left 'as is'. But Tumbler required a lot of messing with the motion and size over time which I never got just right!

NB The Tumbler music was loosely based on the original version that got scrapped, while Ballet was slightly inspired by the Sydney 2000 ident music if for the tinkly major key piano after the intro...

the new BBC One identity launched last October and all 8 idents are currently on air. A further two launch this weekend.

There was more, but it is related to different bit and bobs.

Have you seen the new idents and do you like them?

As for The Apprentice I think we were all stunned when the winner was announced!! Shocked

Also it got 6.8 million overall tying with Britain's Got Talent while they were on air at the same time.

One of them sounds a bit bizarre for my liking, though admittedly both could qualify as regular idents that just aren't very 'regular'.

It would seem the circle concept has been the first time we've been dealt standard idents that just aren't ordinary as such. For example Hippos which is a bit quirky.

But then you have Kites, Football, Bikes that all work very well as standard symbols because they are still quite normal in a sense.

So is this a case that you and bbc140 have seen stills and heard them described rather than see them? You must be as intrigued as the rest of us are.

Before I would have said that it was a themed ident for Doctor Who, but I doubt it as they would have had it ready for the start of the series.
