Hmm, I'm wondering whether we will see more hashtags being used on BBC One promos?

That's a bit big! Was that on during the whole trail?

Clearly ignoring the new Twitter rules.

Yep, hopefully they'll amend it for future trails

EDIT: This was a sarcastic comment but apparently some people can't take the joke.

They are merely guidelines Twitter would like broadcasters to follow.

Yep, hashtags aren't exclusive to Twitter, however much they'd like them to be.

"Always include the # sign in Twitter hashtags, and add the Twitter bird to the left."

I agree they are ridiculous, but still...

#Twitter #don't #have #a #monopoly #on #hashtags.

They can't even ask people to put their icon on one, with the sole exception that the hashtag is referring solely to Twitter. e.g. " Follow Lord Sugar on Twitter: #bbcapprentice " would fall under their guide lines, but " #bbcapprentice " wouldn't.

Follow @someone on twitter to me should have the logo
Follow #someoneontv should either have a blue style # or none at all

Should there also be a picture of a telephone whenever telephone numbers are displayed? What about an @ icon when displaying an email address? A mobile phone when displaying SMS short codes?

I can understand why Twitter want their logo on screen as much as possible, but why do you want to see it?

Used to see telephone icons and email icons in the past in programmes and some still do when Live. I think it just makes it clearer without using a lot of text across the screen. Presentation style probably.

EDIT: but this is now going off topic so I will stop
