With the BAFTAs tonight and the Oscars immenent, I was wondering today if there is a list of "crown jewels" for non-sporting events which must be guaranteed either live or delayed coverage on terrestrial TV.
I guess state events are there by default due to their non-exclusive nature, but is there any event outside the world of sport which is protected in some form for free to air TV?
And even if there isn't, can you think of any events you consider to be worthy of such status?
