Nick's on his period. He'll be OK by Monday.

I WISH!

Twenty odd years ago, possibly!

I'm just sick to death of all these idiots drivveling on about somebody who the press release clearly states ISN'T ill.

Everybody's going on as if he's at death's door, yet he had the REAL problem a very long time ago.

For God's sake, folks, READ the bloody press release PROPERLY.

Oh yes, and while I'm on, he was a complete PIG to his tech op when he did his late night Sunday radio quiz to the network from GWR at Wootton Bassett. FACT.

Ooh Shock horror! Its not 'life threatening'. He still has a serious illness though and it most certainly was worth posting. Rolling Eyes Mad

My opinion is still that there was no need to post it, as it has nothing to do with current television presentation.

As to how serious it is, why not read up on the subject before making STUPID assumptions?

Many people live perfectly normal lives with this, and other blood cancers, quietly ticking away in the background, giving no symptoms whatsoever.

Nick,

Perhaps you could take your own advice and stick to discussing current television presentation on this forum?

Whenever I look, I find very little on the subject from yourself and instead have to scroll through pages of the squabblings of a drama queen on the periphery of the industry.

This forum USED to be about presentation but became a place for insecure egocentrics who feel the need to needlessly nit-pick anybody who creates a post that doesn't have some tenuous link into the TV industry itself. Time was when ANYBODY interested in TV could post. I don't either recall Asa ever issuing an edict to say that the general public were now barred from creating posts either. I also don't remember you ever being made a moderator, Nick.

Tell me now, what are all these endless posts about "when I was best mates with the driver of an OB van in Bristol 4 years ago" etc. got to do with television presentation anyway?!?!

Bravo! Salut

Thats exactly my point! Jeremy Beadle was a huge personality on ITV creating hit shows about the general public such as hidden stitch-up show Beadle's About and You've Been Framed to name a few.

Nick I do not know what has got into you these last few months but please get a grip! Mad Otherwise I shall have to start calling you Mary Whitehouse... Wink

Apologies in advance to Nick, because it's none of my business, but I'm going to wade in anyway

I think if you read back through Nick's posts of the last year or so you'll work out exactly why this particular thread has wound him up so much, and particularly the post predicting the early death of Mr. Beadle.

It's a pity the person who told him to "keep his hair on" last year didn't similarly think before he posted.

If it offends him - don't post in this thread. Simple. Now can we just carry on as normal. Jee.. Rolling Eyes

Not taking sides here but you do realise no one will give a sh*t.

And in actual fact you have opened yourself to more ammunition

happy-clappy-jappy-chappy, your highlighting of three people's comments did not deserve your over the top and very childish reaction. I've no hesitation in removing you from the forums as a result.

No it wasn't. I am sick to the back teeth of people creating new threads on this forum which turn out to be obituaries pasted in from agency copy (usually with a string of replies declaring 'a great man/woman has been lost. my thoughts are with his/her family and friends' tacked on the end as if the posters in any way knew the person they were commenting on and wasn't commenting purely from the standpoint of having watched a couple of TV series the person in question appeared in). This is a TV presentation forum, not an obituaries forum for people whom no one on here actually knows!

On this occasion, it's been taken one step further, with a big ho-ha made about someone being ill; who *might* be the subject of an obituary at some point in the next few years (although from reading about it elsewhere, doesn't appear likely to happen).

I in no way wish to become involved in some argument going on between certain members in this thread, but threads like this don't half annoy the hell out of me!
