There's a TV extravaganza this Saturday night as Bradley Walsh counts down TV's 50 greatest stars

It's being shown in two parts as the bread to a X Factor and brand new Millionaire filling, 5.30-7.00pm and 9.15-11.00pm

Host Bradley Walsh reveals who the British public have voted their favourite TV star in a run down of actors, comedians, presenters and entertainers who have changed the face of British TV. Will it be classic favourites like Morecambe and Wise or more recent pretenders to the throne of TV greatness like Peter Kay and Ricky Gervais? Featuring contributions from an all-star cast, including Bruce Forsyth, David Jason, Michael Parkinson, Robbie Coltrane, Helen Mirren, Simon Cowell and Noel Edmonds.

ITV must hate Des O'Connor (star on and off for them since the early 1960s?)

He he wasn't listed by ITV bosses on their 50th celebrations for the walk of stars, and I noticed he was excluded from this voting list too.

I don't know how these polls can ever be right. A bit like the best programme votes. I mean most of the people who would vote for things like Sunday Night at the London Palladium and Emergency Ward Ten are dead.

So its never really going to be a true reflection of shows/people. These "top <insert number>" shouldn't really be down to votes, but research and merit of programme/performer.

Chances are Des has fallen out with ITV since the axing of 'Today with Des and Mel'. Hence he's not in the list either. He doesn't even appear as a talking head on clip shows anymore. I suppose his "cheeky old crooner" act doesn't wash with today's audience. I don't know.

Bradley Walsh was live from the Corrie set on GMTV this morning talking about this programme. Anyone else see it ?

I didn't watch this purely because I don't see thepoint of trudging through a coundown like this when you know the winner is going to be David Jason or Ant and Dec. But does anybody have the results of who came where in the Top 50.

I managed to catch the last 30 minutes of this. What a very low budget show it was!

A few clips thrown together with the odd 3 second interview and the lacklustre wit of Bradley Walsh. No wonder there was hardly anyone in the audience! Shocking waste of prime time hours in my view.

But did you notice, the audience always laughed *very* loudly when Bradley made even the lamest joke? In fact, way too loudly for the size of audience. Wonder what was going on there. Wink

I only saw a small part of this and from what I saw it looked boring. Nothing special at all.

I think it can best be described as cheap filler and it wasn't as good as that!
