I think it'll be an interesting wee while for those in TV3 to see what happens... Yes Ireland Am does go on and on, but it fills a quota which is what they need to fill.

And in other news, there's new TV3 idents on the way apparently...

According to yesterdays Sunday Independent it appears as if Canwest does not want to sell to ITV, this is what the article said:

CanWest sells TV3 stake after row
Sunday January 22nd 2006

A BITTER row with fellow shareholder Granada prompted CanWest to sell its €100m stake in TV3. It is understood that the dispute related to future programming and strategic direction of the station, according to sources.
CanWest's decision not to immediately sell its shares to Granada surprised many in the market, as it appears to have opened the doors for other potential bidders.
TV3's minority shareholders including chairman James Morris, Ossie Kilkenny and U2 manager Paul McGuinness own about 5 per cent of the station. It is likely that they will exit the business completely.

Also if UTV bought the station does that mean it will have to buy all the programmes twice, once for UTV and then secondly for TV3 or would it get away at buying the programmes for UTV/TV3 as a package?
