Agree that I think the wrong globe was shown before EE - didn't Michael Grade introduce the computer generated black gobe at the same time as EE and Wogan? If he didn't, they (EE, globe, Wogan) were all introduced to us within months of each other weren't they?

The COW was introduced in 1985 at the same time as Wogan and EastEnders first aired. Didn't the TWO appear at the same time on BBC2, if so they used the wrong one again.
It's been interesting tonight, as we've had a mirror globe, we've had several Weather presentations using the old system before they introduced computers, which were brought in early 1985! Also notice that there has been a =2= ident tonight, with 'Ceefax 270' underneath. Central frontcap and endcap within Spitting Image, though again we had John Sergeant waffling on over the ident!
There was also a nice film probably an Interlude showing how money is made and a Six O'Clock News report about the bad Weather during the Summer of 1985.
That BBC2 drama I turned off after a bit, didn't seem that good, it was also odd that George Cole was sporting a moustache.
I'm so annoyed that tonight's programmes couldn't be enjoyed without those two pompous pretencious windbags butting in every minute or two with nothing interesting or useful to say. At least there is a repeat next week where I hope they will turn off the critics properly. I think this has been an interactive mess, a few minutes discussion after the programmes would have worked better, along with proper introductions to the programmes without John Sergeant talking all over the start. As for the DOGs and blue border for the 4:3....

The TWO was 86. We've had plenty of the =2= on TV lately, but not with the Ceefax caption on it.
That globe didn't appear full-screen on 702 (I'm watching the repeat and the interactive is working this time), they just showed it from the commentators point of view as in the normal programme. I was looking forward to getting that on tape too

I've been meaning to watch that for a long time - I noticed recently it's being repeated on Artsworld, but it's a subscription channel!
The BBC2 Balloon ident from 1995, has just been shown twice, in full and clean! Rather odd me thinks, then it cuts into BBC Weatherview with Michael Fish.
...then the programme cuts into Weatherview with Michael Fish! Notice he was much smartly dressed back then!
Documentary on now about vegetarianism with Jonathan Meades. Its interesting that (as said) Chris Morris and Brass Eye helped rid this type of information programme. Its sooo boringly ridiculous!
Thank goodness for the introduction of the Docusoap in 1998!
