Yeah, the commentary wasn't as intrusive as I thought it might be- actually quite insightful most of the time so I watched that version. And Can You Tell Me? was just something else...

I wonder if in the 80s they'll have Pages from Ceefax as the interlude? Smile

So we shall hopefully be seeing these three idents this evening

It it's going 1955/65 etc - will all the programmes from this decade be from this year.

I've only been watching since 9pm and it hasn't been too bad, I've been tuned into the uninterrupted version on BBCi, no main idents, there was a Granada frontcap, but thats it. Though there were clips of TW3, BBC3 and an Interlude with a cat which seemed to go on forever.

The one from the 1980's is the one I'm looking foward to, Spitting Image and an 1985 episode of Eastenders.

There was a 1965 BBC1 Weather ident and the Weather itself from Bert Flood.

Just seen 1965's Coronation Street. Comedy element still as surperb as today! The end credits featured a bit of the theme we never hear nowadays which was nice.

I noticed last night, when they were telling us to switch back to the commentary on 702, the commentators had the weather on their screen. I'm glad to hear that I'll be able to watch it myself tonight (I'm going with the repeat tonight, seeing as it wasn't signed last night. I was out and set the video, but I'd not moved the clock on at the weekend, and I'd forgotten to put the box into 4:3 cutout, oops).

All six decades are repeated next week late at night if anyone's missed it.

If you were watching in the 50s and 60s, that's what you'd be used to! Not sure I could stand it though!

Yes up until the early 1990s they used to play the full end theme which was much better. They did play it once recently though when Karen left the show.

Watching the repeats on plus indicates the theme tune was shortened in mid-1991. At the same time, the credits sped up, and the text shrunk!

Well, it's getting more and more annoying as the week goes on. I noticed there were DOGs on 701 as well as 702 last night. When I tried to go straight to 702 as usual tonight, it would only stay on for 5 secs at a time. So, now I have to go from 701 to 702 by pressing red, which leaves me with not only the DOGs, but a (blue???) Press Red icon in the top right! AARRRGH! Still, Thames ident was left at the beginning, wonder if the endcap will still be there (probably not judging by Freemantle's treatment of other old Thames programmes).
