Personally I can't see the difference between a yucky cheap TV Quick / Easy / etc. and the Saturday Mirror's "We Love Telly!" - which costs 50p and comes with a whole newspaper attached Exclamation However if I was to buy a listings magazine it'd be the only decent one on the market - Radio Times.

TV Easy Is still goingg but I read in a magazine trade paper the other day that Asda and some smaller retailers have dropped TV Easy from their planograms.

Asda for the Reason that TV Easy Shafted them on a special price-point deal , and the others because the sales was bad

I have to admit that I occasionally buy TV & Satellite Week. Confused Though it's usually the Radio Times.

I have tried several & TV Times is still the best, perfect layout & info in the mag. If the TV Times did dissapear then It would be the Radio Times for me although I don't like how they split the terrestrial channels over two pages

If someone else in our house buy's the TV mag then it's usually TV Quick, TV Choice or What's on TV, which I cannot stand as they all feature crap about soaps or celebrities. I try and buy TV Times which is probably the best out of that type of magazine.

But you can't beat the good old Radio Times, pricey, but worth it, especially when they take a fair look at the week's TV, not just Eastenders or Coronation Street.

I think it's a shame the way that TV Times has gone down in the past several years. Obviously it was much stronger when the TV Magazine business was a monopoly and only when Radio Times did the BBC and TV Times did ITV. But AIUI ITV used to own TV Times, but they sold it off and competition arose, but out of all the cheap magazines that have come and gone since this happened only Whats on TV and TV Quick are still going strong.

What phrase is this new "England Edition" of TV Times using in the BBC1/ITV1 column(s)? - "Regional News Magazine", "Local News", or something else?

I take it that all ITV1 English Regions are now in the "regional variations" column (or is Border in the Scotland Edition of TV Times instead?).

Does the "regional variations" column bother to offer the titles/details of the ITV1 regional news magazines or not?

And how are they gonna deal with the non-news ITV1 regional programmes? If they're just gonna be listed as "Local Programmes" in the main ITV1 column, then the "regional variations" column will surely have to offer more detail! (?)

The new TV Times England edition lists regional variations on ITV as such:

XX.XX Local Programmes
See variations on left

With a list of the regions received in England (plus Channel) listed in the variations. TVT always refers to BBC/ITV regional news magazines as Local News.

The Scottish edition still lists Border variations, while the Wales/West edition still offers separate billings for HTV West and HTV Wales in the main ITV1 column, with S4C billings in the variations box.

Antz, the Ulster edition of TVT also says ITV on the top of the column, so it's not just the Scotland edition.

So ITV West is the only English region to still have its own edition (shared with ITV Wales). Wouldnt it have been better to have a Wales edition and the West to be included with the other English regions?

Still not got round to browsing the newsagents so wondering how TV Times (and other mags) have incorporated More4 into their listings!

I think TV Times have had virtually the same listings layout for a few years now. I'm surprised they haven't re-jigged them as well and dropped the Pick of the Day page to include an extra page of digital listings!

As already mentioned Radio Times have reduced the space for BBC3, BBC4, ITV1 & ITV2 to fit in More4, as a result Living TV2 & Sky Mix actually have more space. I wonder if RT will ever add an extra 14 pages so they can fit an extra 2 page spread per day.

Not sure where they will put ITV4, plus shouldn't ITV2/3 have more space than BBC3/4 as they are on 24 hours.

In Whats on TV they've added More 4 and ample space for ITV4 at the expense of removing MTV, VH1 & Trouble listings

In page 3 of the latest issue of TV Times (I don't buy this, my parents do) the editor has written a statement to say that they will be removing the childrens section to make space for Sky Three and ITV4. IIRC the Disney Channel will be moved into the movies section and it seems all the other childrens channels will be dropped.

I also bought the Radio Times this week and there isn't yet any mention of how they will handle the addition of Sky Three and ITV4. I guess they will drop Sky Travel as this is being taken off Freeview. They've done this before when they've needed to add new channels.
