i didnt mean it like that. a tram runs very near the studios on an identical viaduct (obviously longer). they film that tram and put the image over the coronation street viaduct. o in some aspect it is computer generated but it is a real tram if you get what i mean. and the buildings are also a real place. the images of those houses is from an area called "Langworthy" in Salford where Corrie is filmed. Corrie is filmed in Salford NOT Manchester by the way.
Ah yeah I see what you mean now, perhaps my wording 'computer generated' was a bit dubious. Either way though, the tram doesn't look quite right to me.
ive just looked at the newsround site and they do have it wrong. it isnt fully computer generated, just 2 images merged from various places around salford. but the tram dosent look quite right, you are in fact correct. trams carry adverts just like buses so therefore, they have to crop the tram and re-edit parts back in. so it is half real, half fake, the majority real.
The fact is that Coronation Street IS made in Manchester, because that's where Granada TV's studios are based, on
the outskirts of the city centre of Manchester, next to the Manchester/Salford boundary. To all intents and purposes,
the town of Weatherfield, where Corrie is set, is a fictional area of the city of Salford.
Hang on . . .. shouldn't all this talk of Corrie be in the actual Corrie thread . . . ?!?

I think I should know. I live VERY near to the studios and they are in Salford NOT the boundary that is why Weatherfield is in Salford and NOT Manchester.

The boundary of Manchester and Salford is the River Irwell, and Granada Studios are on the Manchester side
