BSkyB is in talks with a group of local businessmen to buy television studios in Maidstone. If it does, Sky will open a TV studios near HQ in Osterley.

That certainly does look like the W under the layers of paint. Crying or Very sad How sad, as it is not covered by a hideous yellow and blue and a cheap Amercian looking logo. Rolling Eyes

What great days they were, as I remember, the true Westcountry era. Smile

that is such a brilliant sign. although tyne tees never had that I still loved the tube that led to reception. I hope they keep some of the building when they redevelop it.

It's a shame it's in such a damn good part of town. It's bound to get redeveloped into something.

Unlikely unfortunately. The large sign was removed a few months ago. These pics were taken last year.

Very soon I will post brand new pics on the the current state....

The Granada office block at Quay Street was one of the last of the original set of buildings to go up - it was completed in 1961, according to my reading of old copies of Television Mail.

And the houses in the Coronation Street set are not 3/4 size - they are full-sized houses. I think there's some confusion here with an earlier external set which was scaled down and required clever camera angles to disguise the fact.

Sorry, if you're going to use "yeap" it can only be in one sentence.

"Yeeeap, I think so."
