Is it just me or have nearly all of the popular programmes on ITV/C4/C5 etc. have sponsorship deals with companies. I know they need the money and I cant see anything wrong with the idea but some of them are just awful. The Chase and Gala Bingo and Coronation Street and Compare The Market are my two most disliked. Any stupid ones you have seen before or now?
How exactly do you propose the tv shows you enjoy get made? No licence fee goes to commercial broadcasters.
If you felt that strongly you could contact the brands and suggest they rethink who they use as an ad agency but the fact you've quoted the brands associated with the programmes shows that the more annoying sponsorships stick in your mind - precisely what the brands want!

True, but don't the good ones do the exact same as well.
Agree about The Chase - hate sponsorship or ads within programmes featuring stars of the programmes, something which was banned for good reason up until quite recently and I don't see the justification for relaxing that rule.

Didn't Gala Bingo used to run ads with the stars of Emmerdale and Corrie?
It must've been a related thing as I think they do Emmerdale and corrie games on their website. I do, however, like the Mccains ones for Emmerdale (but I hated the familes before and wanted to kill them).
Don't like the current Emmerdale ones, and that annoying 'cleaning lady' who chimes in.
The Channel 4 comedy ones are awful and well in need of replacement
You mean the Fosters ones? I'm not fussed on them either but if you can remember a few years ago we had those 3 Mobile ones with the black guy, they were horrible.
Don't remember 3Mobile sponsoring C4 comedy - it was We Buy Any Car for a bit before Fosters returned, but Fosters was so long associated with C4 comedy I think We Buy Any Car struggled to benefit from it's sponsorship. Compare the Market probably made more of an impact than Harveys but I suspect many people would still think Cadbury sponsors Corrie - a long association can be difficult to replace.
