I believe there was at least one episode, maybe even a whole series, of Michael Barrymore's My Kind of Music that was not shown on TV.

All espoides were Broadcast in England. The very last series was never broadcast in scotland.

The previous poster may have been referring to Barrymore's series of 'Kids Say The Funniest Things.' This was pulled from the schedule in the wake of the Stuart Lubbock saga and all the little kiddies who'd featured in it were really upset. Apparently. The series (which turned out to be the final one as it happened) was never broadcast.

I wonder why it was aright to broadcast my kind of music but not kids say the funniest things.
Music went out in February 2002

Music was the last thing Barrymore did before LWT terminated his contract. The fact it was broadcast at all was probably contractual.
Kids was originally scheduled for Summer 2001, obviously having been produced months before but when the Lubbock saga broke it was seen as inappropriate considering Barrymore's situation at the time.

with reference to september 11th the Big Breakfast was pulled the following morning which is the only time the entire show was canceled in it's history, it's been cut off due to a flood and a power cut

RI:SE was also pulled when the Iraq war started

in 1994 this morning was cut off in the middle of an Interview with Roy Barraclough when news broke that then labour leader John Smith had died (they went to a news flash and just stayed with ITN)

I guess most live shows do pre records if they can't go live, remember This Morning going off the air through a tecnhical fault and the Big Breakfast did a piece called 'This Morning Has Broken' Laughing Rolling Eyes where they mentioned them not having some sort of stand by programme like they did

GMTV ran their own standby programme back in the summer when they had their power cut

anyway, shows recorded but never broadcast, the only one I can think of is in summer 2002 an episode of Flog It which was cut off half way through for a news flash on the discovery of the bodies of the children who went missing in Soham (couldn't think of a very delicate way to word that Confused )

there's probably loads of programmes made for transmition during the ITV strike which have never been broardcast

It might have for one day, but for about three or four weeks they had Channel 4 News from 7.00am to 8.10am and then RI:SE from then until 9:30am.

The ITV drama series about the Royal Navy "Making Waves" was cut off in it's prime.

Ironically the sort of ratings which saw that get pulled are probably the sort of ratings considered a drama hit nowadays.

As for ITV drama not aired on ITV1, I know when ITV3 started they showed a series set in a pottery factory which had been sat on the shelf for a couple of years. Can't think what it was called, but it wasn't too bad at all actually and at the time probably would have fitted into ITV's Sunday night schedules quite comfortably - though I think the problem then was ITV had basically commissioned too much to fill the Sunday 8pm slot.

I also remember that as I used to record Nightscreen to see what programmes would be coming up in the future (oh the shame!) and I remember this being on the list, eventually showing up years later, as you say, on ITV3. I think it was called Blue something.

They did show the second part a few weeks later either on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

That sounds a bit like a tabloid story to me, probably that it was rumoured there would be a Christmas special and one never appeared.

I don't think so on this occasion, I saw on a few forums (as well as here) that people actually went to the recording - which was done a few days after the last episode of that series of takeaway in September-ish time to save money.

The remaining four episodes of Brian Conley's "Judgment Day" which was axed after 'only' 3m viewers.

I went to see a recording of a show called "The Clock Is Ticking" hosted by Dick & Dom in TC8 at TV Centre, which I believe was meant to be one of these Saturday night National Lottery programmes - the pilot was recorded on 30th May 2007, I don't think it was ever comissioned for a series, so McCourt and Wood went on to do Are You Smarter Than a Ten Year Old instead.

Pilots are another matter. The very point of a pilot is that it might not work out. Of course, if it does, then potentially they've got the first episode in the can already, depending on how big any changes they want to make might be.

And if it doesn't, the BBC will rush it on air anyway to give Graham Norton something to do over the summer.
