Wasn't there a Christmas edition of Saturday Night Takeaway filmed in Sept/Oct that year which was never shown because it was deemed to be so poor? Think it was mentioned on here a couple of a years ago.
If so, I don't think it's in Ant & Dec's book - when reading a couple of pages in a store the other week they mentioned "the one and only time we did Christmas Takeaway" in reference to one that was actually shown.

Hardwicke House?
ISTR that it was a Central TV sitcom that was pulled after two episodes in the mid-to-late 80s. I think they'd made the whole series but the reaction to it was so bad they didn't show the full run.

There are rumors It did get an aired in the end, but it was unlisted, ( not sure how) not advertised and only shown in the Central region late at night.
from what I heard its was not that bad

That never actually got made at all did it? Paul did do a non-broadcast pilot of The Generation Game didn't he though?
There was an interview on either MediaGuardian or Broadcast with the woman who commisioned Dancing on Ice and a few other hits (as well as a heap of turds) who said that they'd made a pilot but instead of Amanda Holden they had Fern Britton. I think she commisioned a 6 or 7 episode series but it was axed by some new bloke at ITV (not sure who, Grade?). It wouldn't be resurrected, of course, until America's Got Talent was a success.
There's a drama made by Shed Productions (Bad Girls, Footballers' Wives) called Bombshell about women in the army or something. While it hasn't been shown over here I believe it has been aired in New Zealand.
Also I seem to remember there being a three part reality show on the BBC where members of the public were put into a sort of situation room where they had to deal with fictional national crises. The last episode ended up being pulled after Ken Bigly was excecuted as the show was similar in content. Don't know if that ever got shown again?

This is it though it doesn't mention if that episode actually remained unaired.

Slightly off topic, but NBC axed Southland having commissioned a second series after a short first series this year, but with six episodes produced they decided not to air the second series, claiming it wasn't suitable for 9pm, Looks though like TNT may pick it up.
Back here I believe there is a full series of hit Welsh teen drama Pam Fi Duw? (Why Me God?) which S4C didn't air after it turned out the scenes of young actors in various states of undress were allegedly more for the writers benefit than the audiences.

That reminds me, there was a one-off drama about the 1989 sinking of the Marchioness which was made for ITV but only ever aired in France. It's mentioned on the Wikipedia page about the incident:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marchioness_disaster
I remember the ending was felt to be "preachy", and also that ITV offered it for sale to other broadcasters at one point, but nobody wanted it.
I believe it does remain unaired, yes. Also: about a million editions of "I'm The Answer" with Dale Winton.

Admittedly Making Waves was poor, but as the series went on the quality did pick up just as much as the viewers were actually gentting to know the characters.
I, too, believe that it was axed far too soon - I know in todays world its instant vieweing figures that count and sometimes that is a shame. If that had been the case during 80's and half of 90's would Minder, Soldier Soldier, Only Fools and Horses, Peak Practice (and a whole host of others) have lasted its full first series???
Sometimes there are slow burners and Making Waves (and one mentioned earlier - Hardwick House) would have been in that category.
The ITV drama series about the Royal Navy "Making Waves" was cut off in it's prime.

All espoides were Broadcast in England. The very last series was never broadcast in scotland.
The previous poster may have been referring to Barrymore's series of 'Kids Say The Funniest Things.' This was pulled from the schedule in the wake of the Stuart Lubbock saga and all the little kiddies who'd featured in it were really upset. Apparently. The series (which turned out to be the final one as it happened) was never broadcast.

I believe there was at least one episode, maybe even a whole series, of Michael Barrymore's My Kind of Music that was not shown on TV.

I wonder why it was aright to broadcast my kind of music but not kids say the funniest things.
Music went out in February 2002
