made the move to Channel 5. I’m sure it was announced and planned, and then it just fizzled out.
Yes, hence why on the last show they very deliberately said it was "the last CDUK.. for a while".
It was going to be revived on C5 but the sponsor pulled out, they couldn't find another and they couldn't afford to it without one, so it never happened. And similarly a planned replacement for CDUK on ITV also never happened as they could only afford to do it with a sponsor and none materialised.
The Frank Skinner Show went from BBC1 to ITV. And obviously Fantasy Football went from BBC2 to ITV, albeit in tournament format and not the weekly one.
There’s probably too many to list, and I appreciate it’s not the same as such, but there are cases of Children’s programmes made for the BBC such as The Clangers which were repeated on Channel 4 and Channel 5. Or those that were imported by one channel and then another one. As recently discussed elsewhere on this forum, there is also the case of some of TV-am’s imported children’s programmes which ended up on Channel 4 after 1993.
The Hotel Inspector started life on Channel 4 and moved to Channel 5.
I'm not sure it did? Ruth Watson who was the original Hotel Inspector was poached from the Channel 5 series to host a similar show on Channel 4.
Correct. The Hotel Inspector has always been on Channel 5. And arguably the best thing that happened to it was Ruth Watson being poached, as Alex Polizzi gave it a bit of a boost and has now of course become synonymous with the show - whilst the Channel 4 ripoff faded rather quickly. A quick look on the C5 website shows they were still airing new episodes in 2019. I had no idea it was still actually running! It's definitely been a long time since its heyday.

There were rumours of the same thing happening to The Big Breakfast when it ended. I remember a lot being read into some internal memos for Planet 24 staff which stated this was "the end of The Big Breakfast on Channel 4" as if to hint that it was being lined up to relaunch elsewhere. I'm certain they tried to float it with Channel 5, and possibly others, but it's likely it was never a realistic option.
The most recent Channel 5 poaching (other than Eggheads) is 22 Kids and Counting, an old C4 documentary that managed to beat The Circle in the same timeslot on Monday, both in overall numbers and 16-34s.

The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures went from BBC2 to C4, then to C5, then More4 and then back to the BBC on BBC4. The Worlds Strongest Man was also a BBC Christmas and New Year staple for years before moving to C5.
There must surely be at least one show that's managed BBC, ITV, C4 and C5.
Dangermouse - CITV to CBBC (CBBC also repeated the original series)
Yes, Prime Minister - BBC to Gold
Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - Original Series on ITV, revived on BBC One with Vic & Bob
I wouldn't class them as revivals, they were remakes with totally different cast and crew. Effectively totally different shows.
CBBC never repeated the original Dangermouse either. BBC2 did for a while, but it was totally outside of CBBC hours.
I'm not sure I class imports moving channels as counting in this thread either. Apart from I guess Neighbours and Home & Away seeing as the BBC, ITV and Channel 5 practically funded the shows themselves after a while.
