Page 10 of the "taster" of the book (http://www.kaleidoscopepublishing.co.uk/books-bobsfullhouse-taster.pdf) shows he was a bit of a continuity buff, too.

Very enjoyable programme.

I was fortunate enough to attend the screening of the Monkhouse Archive at BAFTA (and you could see the back of my head in the programme, excitingly) and Mike Prince, the ATV/Central continuity announcer, said that Bob would often phone him up with jokes and facts about films and programmes that were coming up so he could use them in his links. And when he was doing The Golden Shot, he sometimes used to come up to Birmingham the night before and sit in with Mike while he did his links, sometimes popping in front of the camera for a quick chat.

Fascinating - and lucky you!

Surely they were just recorded as a consequence of recording a programme and were later catalogued seperately by Kaleidoscope? Hence 2 of them are intro's to (presumably his) episodes of Family Fortunes.

Hmm, would he have had a show on after OTT? It played out jolly late.

Perhaps he just recorded OTT.

I would have thought the item of most interest to him was Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show which followed OTT?

Have now watched the BBC Four programme. Amazing programme if a bit emotional near the end.

I found it fascinating how he used to annotate the TV Times to the exact minutes that programmes started and who was in them. To say finding that out was close to bordering on certain members of this forum (myself not included of course!) was quite something.

I wonder what's the future of the archive? Will it ever be available to browse?

The whole of Brasseye was repeated a few years ago when they made the new episode. Not sure if any of it had to be cut. I'd guess the subliminal message to Michael Grade wasn't included in the repeats.

The Day Today has definitely been repeated, I think it was also shown by UKTV, probably on UK Play.

As for 2.4 Children, it apparently shows up on GOLD on occasion but again, why do you say "never completed"? Gary Olsen died in 2000 and the show only wrapped up after his death but again that was between series.

Correct me if I'm wrong but hadn't 2.4 Children come to the end of it's natural life by 1999 anyway? From what I can remember both of the Children in it were quite grown up by that point & they had had 8 Series...

Actually a quick read on wonkypedia reveals that the last episode was the Millennium Special which was broadcast in 1999 before Gary Olsen died, however there's no mention as to whether or not that was intentionally the last ever episode or the last episode due to Olsen's death.

Reading further also because the DVD's didn't sell to well they haven't released anything past Series 3 unfortunately.

I wish the BBC would show the whole of that Bob Monkhouse last ever concert in front of fellow comics. Looked good and has never been shown. Here's some more that have very rarely been repeated or never at all!

Selwyn Froggit
Dear Ladies (Hinge and Bracket)
Kelly Montieth (BBC show, was it good I can't remember)
The Pall Bearer's Review (never been repeated on anything BBC2 controversial Jerry Sadowitz show)
Filthy, Rich and Catflap (underated Young Ones follow on)
Seven of One (Ronnie Barker pilot of Porridge and Open all Hours etc)
Hot Metal (one of ITV's really good sitcoms)
Peter Cook and Company
Rude Health
End of Part One
Hancock (hasn't been shown for ages)
You Bet Your Life (US Groucho Marx show)
Jack Benny Show
The Honeymooners
Please Sir
Till Death do us part
The Fenn Street Gang (sequel to Please Sir)

Tiswas, for started there not a lot of those episodes in achieve as it was a live show, thus not many were recorded, I think there about 30.

I still think Another itv sitcom: Mind your Language should also get an airing,
