The amount of old Tv show which never see the light of day keeps increase every year, yet there never get a chance to come about out to be enjoyed,

Yes some well cant come back out like like the wonder Love Thy neighbour or Curry and chip

but were not here to talk about bad sitcom: or worse sitcom every made, http://www.tvforum.co.uk/tvhome/itvs-worst-sitcoms-30698/ or http://www.tvforum.co.uk/tvhome/come-mrs-noah-26891/

Im on about proper achieve which does not get a good airing now and again, and this goes well beyond UK programmes. First off is TVS achieve, and the utter mess in its in Thus alot of the old show can not get aired

Catchphrase 86 - 93 , All Clued up, Bobby davro Tv weekly/ tv show, Cats eyes, Fraggle rock

Yet other tvs stuff have managed get aired, like Ruth Rendell's murder stories. Other programmes that have not been seen again included LWT "end of part one" "Russ Abbott". STV has only started to upload it old programmes onto youtube included a high number of dramas, The amount of Dramas and one off that bbc/itv/Ch4 have could I dare say fill up ITV3 and gold!

USA programmes also never seem to come back either like Seinfeld, Rosanna, The Cosby Show, at least ABC1 had a good mix. I blame Comedy central for that one Wink

CBS uk channls and universalchannel, at least has lead to a chance to see more us drama.

I've been reading Eric Sykes' autobiography, and he seems to think quite highly of Curry And Chips.

I really liked Love Thy Neighbour, John. I also enjoyed Girls on Top and That's My Boy. I don't think either of those was re-shown either.

I forgot to add in the Central television most biggest flop show Hardwicke House, which could be well today

I think Fraggle Rock was repeated not so long ago (if not, still being shown) on a Cartoon Network channel.

Has Series 1 of Men Behaving Badly ever been repeated, BBC 1 only seems to have repeated Series 2 (the last Thames/ITV series) onwards, the Harry Enfield series seems to have been forgotten about.

I've seen the a couple of Harry Enfield episodes of Men Behaving Badly. I think it was on UK Gold. This was several years ago though. Wasn't series one shown by ITV though? That might go some way to explain the lack of BBC repeats.

The version I saw on Cartoon Network not so long ago wasn't the TVS version. It didn't feature Fulton Mackay.

I wish the BBC would repeat old series of 'Horizon' and Channel 4 'Equinox'.

Men Behaving Badly, series 1 & 2 were both shown on Thames (ITV), BBC 1 has only shown Series 2, I imagine because Harry Enfield is in Series 1 that may be why they haven't reshown it although as you say Series 1 has been repeated

Fraggle Rock, sadly there is a big problem with the TVS versions of the shows, from Wonkypedia:

UK

...TVS, the original broadcasters, has passed through several owners since 1992 and of the 96 episodes, only 12 master copies are so far known to still be in existence. HIT Entertainment has tried unsuccessfully to locate the missing tapes, including extensive enquiries with The Jim Henson Company both in the UK and the US.

When UK television channels wish to broadcast the show, they are forced to use US versions; such was the case with Cartoon Network in 2004.

Fraggle Rock is a strange beast though, as it has multiple fingers in multiple pies so to speak production wise, though the most common version broadcast, as stated, is the American version. The TVS version is part of the TVS archive which is apparently now owned by Disney, and therefore pretty much unusable as the paperwork's all been lost. Which may go some way towards explaining the lack of airings of (early) Catchphrase as mentioned by a previous poster.

All Clued Up has been aired to some degree in the past by either Challenge, or its previous incarnation, The Family Channel.

Anyway just because something exists in an archive somewhere doesn't mean you can show it. Many years ago prior to about 1978 if you couldn't show something any longer you'd wipe the tape which would, kind of, solve that problem.

Hardwicke House was apparently wiped, said Broadcast magazine, though later turned out to be untrue.
There's an interesting article here about the show: http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?page_id=330

Stranger thing is, its turns out DISNEY has no legal right to TVS Fraggle if someone ( COUGH go to ashford warehouse) located the tapes there would have to be handed over to Jim henson company, yet Disney own Muppet I believe. so Disney could do something.

Disney only owns the Muppets and Bear In The Big Blue House. Everything else is still part of the Jim Henson Company.

Prior to Jim Henson's death in 1990, he wanted to sell his company to the Walt Disney Company anyway. However if the entire lot came under Disney's ownership, TVS would still lose their franchise, lose all their paperwork and go through several owners and at the end of it only have 12 master tapes of Fraggle Rock in the portion of the archive that's still available to buy.
