Hello folks!

I'm a newly registered member on here and my main reason for this is to get your help in finding tv-series that don't feature a title/intro - sequence.

I'm a graphic design student in my final year focusing on film & animation and I'm currently working on my graduation projects.

I'm mainly looking for any series really, that don't feature title - or intro sequences.
A program that comes to my mind is the college comedy show called 'Greek', but I'm looking for more examples. Tv shows like Lost are also okay, if they just have a very short (few seconds) opening.
I would appreciate your help here! Wink
Thanks.

A lot of the more recent TV shows have either very short or no title sequences, or just put the credits over an establishing shot of the episode.

Heroes is one i can think of. If you want a British example, Spaced which was made in 1999/2000 never had a title sequence, just a transition of the word SPACED going from one scene to the other as the show started. Teachers the drama with Andrew Lincoln also just used an establishing shot of the show to name the show and the people in it.

Outnumbered doesn't have one - just the name of the series over the opening scene

Many of the drama series on ITV1 used to start without any real title sequence, usually just a caption of the name over the opening shots, sometimes accompanied by a short piece of the theme tune.

Inspector Morse, Frost and London's Burning immediately spring to mind, but I'm sure there were many others.

The Secret Millionaire (not sure if it counts) but it doesn't really have a title sequence, just a few seconds of the logo on a black background after they done the coming up intro.

Excellent, thanks! Very Happy

Keep them coming please.
The more I have to choose from the better.

Can anyone think of any science-fiction ones?

Frost had a proper opening sequence. Moody shots of alleyways and stuff with a saxophone over the top, and then at the end Frost looked through a gate and smiled at the camera.

Recently, the sitcom "Outnumbered" has had the Morse-style just-the-title thing (and done quite badly too - didn't that words-coming-in-from-the-side thing get old hat around 1983?).

EDIT: Oh, someone's already said that.

If you're looking for something less recent, long running soap Crossroads didn't have a title sequence for most of its existence. Usually it just began with the programme name keyed over the start of the opening scene, with a few seconds of theme tune.

Is this so you can create your own storyboard for a hypothetical title sequence? Does the programme have to be of a particular genre?

Didn't the first Ep of The Apprentice the other night not have a proper intro?

I'm guessing they wanted as much time as poss for the show, so cut the opener right down?

Similarly, (and I appreciate its not everyone's favourite - even if it is mine), the first episode of each new series of America's Next Top Model never features a title sequence, as the final selection of participants aren't chosen until the end of the episode.

Wow, that was pretty camp.

An episode in series 4 of One Foot in the Grave called "The Trial" did not start with the usual opening titles, just the programme name over an opening shot... this gave that particular episode a much darker feeling.
