TV return for the National Lottery on ITV.

The National Lottery website suggests the live Lotto draw is taking place on its website / YouTube channel at 7:45pm on Saturday evenings - will the draw be repeated half an hour later during these itv broadcasts?

It's the results rather than the draw at first by the sounds of it, but there may be full shows in the future, presumably funded by Camelot.

No mention of any plans for midweek yet but if ITV could get Camelot to pay for a quiz in the Wednesday Coronation Street sandwich it would probably be quite mutually beneficial.

As the original Camelot release said that the draw would be fronted by "well-known ITV personalities", doesn't this suggest that Mulhern is only the launch host for the first few weeks (probably due to his involvement with BGT)?

Probably similar to when Chris Evans relaunched it on the BBC, he probably won't be able to do it once the live shows begin anyway. Can't help wonder if Ant and Dec were maybe lined up before Ant went back into rehab though!

Is Jenni Falconer a well known ITV personality?!

Even if you don't like some or all of the shows, having the lottery means ITV's got even more of a good old fashioned Saturday night line-up at the moment:

Ninja Warrior
Alien Fun Capsule
BGT (including National Lottery)
Keith & Paddy Picture Show

Backed up with the first Saturday Night promo I've seen for a long time, with Whigfield - Saturday Night playing.

Just need Ulrika Jonsson with muscly Gladiators, Cilla Black & Matthew Kelly and we could call this a return to form for Saturday Night entertainment.

This is from Broadcast, I've got no idea what to expect now:

Quote:
The 90-second break, produced by ITN Productions, will ditch the draw element and instead invite members of the public to compete to win cash prizes. Stephen Mulhern is to host the results show, with other ITV personalities also being lined up to appear.

Will be a bit hard to get Cilla Black back... unless there's going to be a live seance special event or something.

I think we've just given ITV commissioners their next event... A night with Cilla, Brucie, Ken Dodd and Les Dawson.

You're giving me flashbacks to that Michael Jackson Seance for Sky 1.

To be fair that's possibly the most unintentionally hilarious programme ever broadcast.

I like Stephen, again I watched him growing up on CiTV, finger tips, quick trick and mom.

Ditto

I'd never even heard of the guy until reading about him in here, and I don't think I've ever seen him on my telly, (I watch very little ITV these days)

He got his break on CiTV (1998 relaunch - where they reintroduced on-screen presenters), presented kids shows and made his way up from there.

I don't think she's *quite* as well-known an ITV personality as her one-time GMTV colleague... Wink
