Former TV-am presenter Mike Morris dies

I have just seen this tweet from Lorraine Kelly

Very sad news - my old friend Mike Morris who shared a sofa with me on TVam has died. He was a good man and a very underrated broadcaster.

A real shame - I remember the videos of him and Lorraine on TV Ark. I wasn't alive during the TV-AM era but he looked like a very charismatic and warm presenter.

Very sad news. I remember his anger at the loss of the franchise back in 1991. An absolute professional who will be sorely missed.

RIP.

I'm really shocked, I was watching some old clips from Calendar and had just watched one from 1995, which was broadcast from Lincoln University and featured Mike and Christa. I then went onto Twitter and saw Lorraine's tweet about his passing.

Very sad news, although I wasn't old when TV-am finished Mallett and Morris were who I associated with TV-am, a true professional.

RIP Mike.

I only learned of Morris through my interest in television and viewing clips on sites like TV Ark as well as YouTube, as I also was not around during the TV-am days. Even so, he had always come across to me as a professional and likeable presenter even if I had only seen him those short clips from many years ago. Very sad news.

Sit tibi terra levis. My only memory of him is from the last ever TV-am, but I've seen clips of him at the Ark. A sad day for British broadcasting.
