A few others...

Henry Kelly appeared as himself in an episode of Dinnerladies when Bren won a competition to appear on a ficticious game show.

Sebastien Coe appeared as himself in an episode of The Brittas Empire when he was supposed to be opening a new wing at Whitbury Leisure Centre.

You could count the numerous Children in Need specials. One notable one was when (the then) Prime Minister Tony Blair appeared as himself in a Catherine Tate sketch. Boris Johnson, Jensen Button, Paul McCartney, Roy Hodgson, Arsene Wenger and Bradley Wiggins also starred as themselves in the Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em sketch.

This is possibly more of a common occurrence now than it was in the 80s and before, but I remember Richard Whitely appearing as himself in YTV's Hallelujah! comedy in 1983 (he probably earned an extra fiver for his trouble), and both Paula Yates and Russell Grant appeared in early episodes of Brookside, opening fetes and the like.

Gordon Honeycombe was seen reading a news report in the 70s film The Medusa Touch, though was just credited as 'newscaster' or 'newsreader'.

The Big Bang Theory has featured, as guest stars playing themselves:
Summer Glau, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Stephen Hawking, Bill Nye the Science Guy, James Earl Jones, Ira Flatow, Carrie Fisher, Stan Lee, George Smoot, Steve Wozniak and of course Wil Wheaton, albeit playing a fictionalised version of himself.

Conversely, the cast (as guests) also appeared as themselves (in character) on an episode of The Late Late SHow with Craig Ferguson.

Anne Robinson appeared as the Anne-droid and Davina McCall appeared as the host of Big Brother in the penultimate episode of Doctor Who's new Season 1.

Dr Joyce Brothers and Tommy Lasorda appeared as themselves in episodes of Police Squad!

Numerous political journos and pundits appeared in various episodes of Yes (Prime) Minister including Ludovic Kennedy

The cast of Star Trek TNG all appeared at least once in Family Guy together.

Didn't Richard Whiteley also appear in an episode of My Family at one point I seem to remember?

Also Andy Murray appeared in a Children in Need special of Outnumbered as well, as did Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakly for Outnumbered's 2012 Sport Relief sketch.

It was a Christmas episode where they were stuck on the London Underground.

As he did in the docu-comedy 2012, along with Tanni Grey-Thompson

Also, there was the terrible 'Ghostwatch' in 1992 where Parky, Sarah Greene, Mike Smith, and Craig Charles all appeared as themselves

Yes - really bad... For some reason it's gained cult-like status. I remember watching it go out and realising it was faked very early on.

It was supposed to be "faked" - it was a drama! And billed as such.
DE88 and Larry the Loafer gave kudos
