Indeed, it looks like there is a problem at Emley Moor as channels 1 to 4 are all off here and have been since the end of the ITV National Weather.

On ITV1 Yorkshire via Sky they have just flashed a caption up apologising!

Yep, there was a huge flash of lightning and the main TV channels have gone off. NTL currently working to try and get things back - but as has been said, they're quite warm...!

Well, everything seems to be normal now, Yorkshire (through Sky) has again flashed up a caption around a couple of minutes ago stating "We apologise for the interruption to your programme. This was due to a problem at the transmitter."

They've just announced on ITV1 just before Holiday Showdown that Yorkshire Steam will be shown again tommorow at 5.30pm and Emmerdale at 6pm.

I live in North West Sheffield. From there I can pick up television signals from Emley Moor and today, like most people who recieve signals from there, I lost all my channels. However, because of my position in the country, I can also pick up signals from another huge television mast at Wildboarclough, two miles west of Buxton in the Peak District. So I pointed my arial towards there and my channels were fine.

Very well done to those at YTV and ITV Presentation. They have managed to get tonight's ITV1 announcer to record special announcements for viewers in Yorkshire and send them up to GMG North to be broadcast. These are now being aired over each ident since 9pm.

Considering ITV1's network presentation, you don't expect this type of thing, but it shows they can still do it.

i'd imagine only ytv and london viewers can expect that kind of treatment. if it'd have happened in tttv land or anglia, i very much doubt they'd have gone to the effort.
