When it began the shows they had were all forces related. They bought in a few military related sitcoms (i.e. Get Some In, Hogan's Heroes and The Phil Silvers Show ), then the connection to the forces in the shows they bought in got looser and looser (i.e. I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart), then they seem to have started buying in anything. I guess it rates and brings them in more money though.

Ah, The Phil Silvers Show a.k.a. Sgt Bilko - what a terrific sitcom. Incredible to think it was made in the 1950s - it's comparatively ancient but still hilariously funny. Phil Silvers was such a great comic actor.

I'm currently losing myself in a rerun (from DVD) of Dallas - what could be better escapism from coronavirus than 1980s shoulder pads, money, power and oil?

Agree with the earlier poster that I’d like to see After Henry again. Also Me and My Girl is worth an outing, for a vintage comedy. How about Sorry! too. I know they’ve been shown on either Drama or Yesterday recently, but One Foot in the Grave always raises a laugh. ( Although maybe the name would be seen as distasteful at present ). I know it was a bit of light comedy, but Kate and Allie was always a bit of easy going feel good US stuff.

I’d also like to see LWT’s Saturday and Friday Night Live repeated for a bit of eighties nostalgia. Although I suppose there would be a lot of musical clearance.

I think classic Hanna Barbera cartoons would lighten the mood - Top Cat / Captain Caveman / Hair Bear Bunch to name but a few.

As I mentioned on the other (probably wrong) thread yesterday, I had a Slocombe Saturday yesterday.

And, as promised, I’ll now report back and tell you all that I’m feline fine after binge watching it.

I’d forgotten about some of the wonderful skits they got up to on that programme. And how they - mainly Inman and Sugden - managed to hold straight faces throughout was a miracle. Some of the other actors could be seen almost creasing themselves from time to time.

Today shall be:

• Cagney and Lacey;
• OFAH.
