Most BBC staff choose RT

Now, I wonder why that could be?

Perhaps its for the pullout section with nice cardigans.

Take care of the sharp staples, now.

So I see people base their entire opinions on tv guides on how much gossip there is on the soaps!? I watch soaps sometimes, but surely the whole point of watching them is not knowing whats going to happen next (which is what the cheap guides sort of give away.. Confused ).

Shouldn't rating a good tv guide be based on good articles, detailed listings for all programmes (incl digital channel programme summaries) and some sort of radio listings?

Well I try not to read the spoilers in too much depth so I still get the occasional surprise with Corrie and Emmerdale storylines.

I agree spoilers ruin it, would be far better if there was no spoilers released at all then everyone would enjoy it more and wouldnt be tempted to read spoilers.

i sort of agree with you, but on the plus side at least you know you arnt going to watch a cat walking across the wall, walking into the Rovers and talking to everyone for 4 days a week! at least with the spoilers that you know that the cat might explode or might take someone hostage in the Rovers in return for a beer!

PS: im using "cat" and stupid storylines to reflect on the reality of the soaps nowadays!

Yes I know what you mean, I tend to read the episode descriptions in the listings part of the mags which give a few lines for each episode, and I also like the soap section in TV Choice as it doesnt give away too much detail like Whats on TV.

As I said in the Shameless thread - as well as being brilliantly acted and very funny in places, Shameless is brilliant because the description of the programme doesn't give away the plot - and you can watch it and be seriously shocked even though it premiered on E4 a week earlier.

As for the soaps - the plots are even given away in full in the three-line summary on the listings pages.

Not always, I sometimes see things happening in Corrie and Emmerdale which I didnt know was going to happen, usually a minor storyline though, I dont read the episode guides on Corrie.net before the episode starts as they give away most of the plots.
