Ulster shares with Yorkshire and Granada. Cheapskates. UTV's area is nowhere near YTV's area!

Well I got the trial issue and it's very nice! The info is a lot clearer, there is a lot more consideration given to channel space, and it has channels TV&SW does not have (Wings, Trav & Adv, Adv One, Reality). The only problem is that there are some channels TTG misses out on - but that's mainly recent launches like Paramount 2 and Toonami, which will probably be squeezed in after a little tweaking... But generally good work! TTG is published by Bauer (the brains behind Quick and Choice) so it could well be a sucess. And it's probably gonna be cheaper than TV&SW too - Choice (Bauer 40p) cheaper than What's (IPC 45p) and Quick (Bauer 65p) cheaper than TVT (IPC 75p).

Got this weeks issue and for 45p it's not bad (don't know if I'd buy it at full price - depends on full price).
Probably a good choice for those who watch alot of Digital channels, but for terrestrial it takes you ages to flick from one day to the next.
Much better layout than it's sister publication TV Choice.

UTV shares with Granada in What’s on TV too. I've seen other mags (Free ones and pay ones), which are the same too. Its mad but good in a way, as Granada Sky people can see what variations are on UTV and watch them if need be.

Overall I am impressed with Issue 1 - if you watch a lot of digital channels then I think it beats TV & Satellite Week - which was my previous read!
I'll give it a few more weeks - but yeah I am impressed!

This week was that special price of 45p, what will be the full price then on next weeks mag? I bet its £1 or so.

Sorry, but nothing beats the Radio Times. For example, it's the only one which tells you who's going to be reading the news/doing the weather.

Strangely enough that isn't a major selling point for most people.
From what i've seen (a flick through as W H Smiths!), it is fairly well laid out, with a fair emount of information.
Although having DigiGuide, this is all a little academic.

Although EPG's and Digiguide are very comprehensive, for me you can't beat a physical TV magazine to flick through. There's nothing better than planning your night's viewing whilst sat on the toilet.
You may take other material to the toilet with you, but for me it's the tv guide, is that just me ?
