Also BBC 1 don't use the 'moon' ident or the 'windows' ident anymore? What's the reason because the more variety they have the better so then it's not so repetitive.

Last Saturday evening I got the Moon ident at the start of The National Lottery In It To Win It on my HDD/DVD recorder. So evidently they still use it.

The Sky At Night is on BBC1 at 23:55 (11:55pm) tomorrow evening, I bet they'll put the Moon ident on at the start of that.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with the Mission Control ident?

The Moon ident is the one with people rowing across the water to "hang" the moon in the sky.

The ident I saw before last week's National Lottery In It To Win It was the moon scene with the moon buggy in, close up to start with, then zooms out and you finally see the moon buggy go round in a circle on the moon. Looking at The TV Room I now see that this one is actually called Mission Control .

I've also found Moon on The TV Room and have noticed that's a different ident to the one I was referring to in my last post. I haven't seen this one in ages.

Sorry for my confusion.

Why exactly was the BBC 1 'Windows' rested? In terms of theme and content, it seems more appropriate for all-round use than many of the more recent additions...

I'd completely forgotten about that one - was it even used much before it was "rested"? The form up is a bit rubbish really, but it's no worse than a few others.

I think the Windows ident was used primarily for daytime programming.

Kites is still in use. It was rested with Windows and Moon but then came back with the 2009 edits.

The Windows ident was actually first withdrawn about a week after the circle idents launched, following a complaint that the flashing lights might induce seizures.

Turned out to be nonsense of course and it was reinstated after a couple of days.

To be honest the windows ident was crap.

Windows was indeed rested due to it failing the test for RFI so was withdrawn and has stayed withdrawn. Moon was reduced down to Obit only, but no ident would now be used into an obit just a static slide, so doubt we will ever see Moon again, which is a shame as was one of my favourites and harked back to the Globe era quite nicely. Others are correct in saying that neither of them were included in the re-edit.

Not expecting a Cappuccino from BBC 2 again, but even just one (Sugar Lumps if they can manage it) would be nice.

And just where would the box go, Paul? On the left?

Don't talk silly.

What's RFI in this context? I've Googled for it, but it seems to mean all sorts of things.

On the bottom right hand corner, just like the other BBC Two idents.
