just wondering if there is a client trick to fix the problem above.

as you can see, opera users get all the menu text compressed and overlaid on top of each other. it makes the site quite difficult to use.

just wondering if there is either an option in the browser to fix this or if not, anything that can be done to fix the problem?

If that is the case then I wonder why the majority of the country use it and not the other browsers.... and people moan about compatability with other formats!

It's because most people don't understand just how sh*te IE is (and yes, I'm talking about version 7 too). It's because they have no idea what they're missing. They have no idea that alternatives even exist. They just use the default browser and I don't blame them. Opera's a good alternative. It displays pages how they should be displayed and the fact it's now free sweetens the deal.

I only discovered the other day that the latest version of Opera doesn't display the menu on TV Whirl at all, which makes my site kinda useless on that browser. Embarassed And yet older versions used to be fine with it. Still should all be fixed when the menu system is moved completely over to using CSS rather than Javascript.

Fair enough. If you do go out there and find a lesser known browser is there not a fear of compatiblity issues when it comes to buying on line and doing things out of the norm?

Opera is a very good browser and for some things it has more standards compliance then Firefox, meaning the site are just using incompatible javascript (info from Wikipedia, can't seem to find the page with it to link to here however).

Quite a lot of people are flocking from IE and Firefox to Opera due to it's generally faster startup and runtime then Firefox, plus it is more feature packed.

I remember when the new look launched and I was having this problem on Firefox:

But if I remember right, a quick code fix solved it.
