Just in case you are wondering what happened to TV Forum since the beginning of the week, there was some sort of database crash, which disabled the forum. Since Asa went on holiday at the weekend, we were unable to rectify the problem.

Our thanks to Martin at Metropol247 for hosting TV Forum temporarily during our problems. I'm sure Asa will be very appreciative when he finds out what happened.

So, for the moment, enjoy posting again, and let's keep our fingers crossed it doesn't crash again!

So was it fixed? Or did it just pop back into exsistance?

On Monday I noticed that the forum was down, so I deleted my cookie for TV Forum, and managed to get the main page up - however all the forums were blank and saying that the "last user information" could not be "found".

Thanks to 24-7 for hosting the site temporarily, and hopefully it won't go down again.

Good to have it back -- indeed, fingers crossed it doesn't cock-up again

Thanks to Metropol 24/7 for hosting the forum. Typically it broke down the time I had quite a bit I wanted to say! At least it is back on now though.

Thank God for that I thought something was wrong with my computer and worried that my details would be deleted again. I got a 'Debug' message. Where was 'metropol' anyway? I didn't know it had the forum going there.

God, I've missed you guys! Very Happy

Good to have the forum back - and here's my little contribution (too much time on my hands!)

Is that the 'Welcome Home To ITV' animation that they had after their mammoth strike in 1979? Shocked Could you tell me where it can be downloaded please?

Thank you.

I presume it just popped back into existence, as Asa is on holiday.

Metropol247 is located at http://www.metropol247.co.uk - you can also click on "The Lounge" on TV Forum's main homepage.

Yes of course, I got it from the Continuity Booth website, in their Storeroom section there's a video file of the Welcome Home to ITV bit - and that is the image they used to represent it.

And the TVForum logo... well you can guess where that's from (and slightly tweaked by me because it wouldn't show up properly in Paint!)

If you've got access to the MHP Private Parts (which most people do these days, poor Mr. Meldrum his parts aren't so private thesedays Rolling Eyes ) you can watch a clip or two of the first day back on air after the strike.

Thanks! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'm so old I can actually remember that strike. THIRTEEN WEEKS IT WAS!! God only two channels and there wasn't anything worth watching until, thankfully. BBC 1's legendary Saturday night schedule of the 70's!! Oh those were the days. Sad

Incidentally during the strike of 1979 that was when Shoestring and To The Manor Born launched and became massive hits because of it. By the time ITV came back on air those shows had established a massive fanbase that ITV couldn't dent.
