Can someone explain what the whole apology to Chris Rogers thing in detail as I wasn't registered at that time. Some members probably weren't born...

Jamez implied...

MOD EDIT: I'm not one for censorship, but I'm sure the forum would rather not go through all the "fun" again.

Well I have the Fight thread in the dragon archive, not sure if I've uploaded it correctly though and I don't know how to make the pics appear either tut.

Thanks for reposting that Fight thread TVD - I totally forgot all about it but have thoruoughly enjoyed reading it all again. Poor ol' Jez (lol).....he took it like a man though...........

Yes indeed. Do you know what happened to Joeydeacon and Swansea's sound, Ohwhatanight?

Remember the Wales thread with pointless discussions about who was reading HTV News.

As I understand it, Chris Rogers was libelled on the forum. To repeat the details would be equally as libelous and could get Asa into just as much trouble.

Incidentally, the word 'Allegedly', contrary to popular belief doesn't necessarily get you off the hook. I'd advise Whataday to remove his post.

Oh ffs, take a chill pill. There is NO way any legal action would've followed through.

Ok, without specifying anything, here is an equivalent of what occured:

Santa Claus is seen on TV without a wedding ring on his finger.

Mr X on TV Forum says "if I didn't know better, I'd say he batted for the other side."

Santa Claus contacts TV Forum threatening allsorts unless immediate action is taken.

TV Forum issues an apology and Mr X is banned for all eternity

The decision to ban Mr X gets a mention on a national newspaper's website.

Of course, I'm taking a different scenario completely. Santa Claus is actually famous for starters.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I can't believe it's been 5 years since TVF was set up. Shocked

I'm one of the old hands that signed up in 2001/2 or so. In fact, I can't remember when I signed up, and in fact what I signed up as, but I seem to recall my other user name was nicked and so I signed up as this after one of the many numerous forum crashes.

I'm thinking of another name change to my real first name, but some git has nicked it, and so I post under 2 different names on TVF and Metropol. I no longer post as often as I used to since I don't get much time anymore and I'm sure that's the case of many of the others who've been on ths forum for ages (!).

Some other events worthy of note: -

- J a r o n B r a s s fooling us all into thinking that he was some top dog at the BBC and Sky, and his 'apology' after he bad been caught red handed.

- The numerous forum crashes. And the moaning from the hosts about the Ikonboard which used to run this site many moons ago. The Hedgehog Online affair.

- The hilarious mocks featuring MDTA et al. The lounge which was buzzing at its peak when it was part of the main forum, sadly no longer what it once was IMO.

And who could forget the members? Many that have come and gone, still visit on a regular basis, or simply just disappeared into thin air.

Well, here's to another successful number of years - happy birthday TVF! Very Happy

not all, many. it just took a while to convince the more gullible members that he was an overweight fraud.

Agreed, Mr VAT Crime, I would have to take exception to the word "all" as well.

I think I've been here nearly exactly four years now, as I remember I joined just after the BBC balloons were withdrawn, and so I started searching on the internet to find out what had happened to them. And thus I stumbled into the world of tv presentation and have been here ever since. I know I don't post all that much really, but I often have a read through when I have a spare moment.

Didn't you arrive here with a signature that told of your success as a Birmingham playwrite? That's what leaps to mind at least.

Also, for some peculiar reason I shortern your name to "Pip" in my head.

Why would I do this?

I wish 'the people' who write EastEnders would visit this site - the amount of ranting I do. Mad Laughing

I did have such a signature a couple of years ago, but I removed it when I realised to looked very bigheaded. As for 'Pip', I'm not sure where you got that from. Thinking of someone else methinks. Laughing
