TV Home launched, IIRC, around 1998. TV Forum was born in March 2001 but a huge crash forced us all to re-register in 2003.

I think it was started in 1999 as I joined the net world in late 1998 and I'm pretty certain it wasn't on then. Of course in those days, it wasn't called TV Home but it was called "UK Television" or sommat equivalent.

I had always had an interest in TV presentation. I never knew why - I thought I was the only one!

I think I came across here in 2002 when I searched for 'TV idents' on Google and found some TV pres sites. I eventually came across TV Home and discovered the link to the forum and I've been here since.

I joined in March 2003 (3 years - Shocked ) but I was one of us that lurked around visiting a few times a day but never joining. I remember the big crash in Dec/Jan 2002/2003. The site was down for days!

Happy birthday TVF! Salut

Call me thick, but according to my knowledge, the first members of TV Forum joined in 2003, am I right? ..or does this involve TV Home as well?

Was there not a big crash in early 2003 after which everyone had to re-register as new?

Was that the crash when I hosted the site for a few days... the lovely purple and white one!?

How did it get to be so long since then, and so long since the site started...!

Well I have the Fight thread in the dragon archive, not sure if I've uploaded it correctly though and I don't know how to make the pics appear either tut.

Thanks for reposting that Fight thread TVD - I totally forgot all about it but have thoruoughly enjoyed reading it all again. Poor ol' Jez (lol).....he took it like a man though...........

Maybe we should have another FIght thread to celebrate the 5th anniversary? For one day or one week only?

Ah, "Internet chat board TV Forum has been forced to make a grovelling apology to Sky News and ITV News presenter Chris Rogers, over a libellous comment a user posted about his on air appearance. TV Forum administrator Asa Hicks has put the apology on the website today, saying the offending poster, "Jamez", has been banned."

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what was said?

Well Happy Birthday TVF, doesn't time fly when you're having fun?

I haven't been here since Day 1, but I joined in November 2001 as 'stegranadaitv1', God knows what I was thinking then! But previous to that I used to have a look on the Forum as I usually visited UK Television/TV Home at the time.

It's amazing the amount of TV Pres Sites have come and gone between 2001 and 2006, Jim Edward's TV World pratically ended in 2001, The Continuity Booth was from about 2001 until recently, TV Ark still fighting strong, though I recall when they were offline for sometime in 2001 so everything had to come back piece by piece.

And what a changing time in Television, the Fall and Rise of DTT, ITV getting rid of regional names, merging, bringing us Generic News, adding even more pointless channels to the mix. Channel 4 with consistently fresh presentation, the rise of E4 and Channel 4's Digital Offerings. The whole Press Red thing that is now common on alot of channels, Video On Demand, the rise of DVD leading to the downturn of the VHS System.

How times change...

That was the BEST THING EVER.

I remember one night's worth of postings in the "Site Discussion and Comments" forum where we just talked about anything for hours. I'm sure this was shortly before it closed. One of the best threads ever, filled with flirting, bickering and giggles.

Anyone else remember?
