I've always wonder how Television crossovers have come about, and also who actully deals with suchs things?

You had the likes of Murder she wrote and Magnum, P.I. yet it was good but certain things were clearly off in the Magnum episode.

Is it just the main production crew who would deal with the presentation of the concept or is there a special team to make sure things actually done right? Who decide who does a double crossover?

Do people even know Absolutely fabulous did a crossover with Roseanne? Im sure there few other people don't know about.

I do wonder Why there has never been proper crossover with Emmerdale and Corrie?

Over the Atlantic, there have been a few episodes of Law and Order crossing over with Law and Order: SVU. SVU has also crossed over with Chicago PD as of recently.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a Corrie / Emmerdale crossover by now.

I wonder how you'd explain it continuity wise with the actors that have been in both shows. How do you explain to Dev that his cousin's now calling himself Jai, or explain to anyone on the street that Judy Mallett is still alive and calling herself Megan, or explaining to Jimmy King that his dad was Annie Walker's son Wink

The Simpsons-The Critic crossover would've gone through a lot of heads even though the latter was shown in the UK.

Friends did some crossovers with the "Must See Thursday" crowd -- ER and Mad About You as a sort of an insider joke.

I didn't even realise it was a crossover until years later!

There's a Friends episode about a blackout in New York City that was designed to be part of a whole night of sitcoms doing episodes about the same blackout. Well, except for Seinfeld who didn't want to.

The Simpsons famously crossed over with Family Guy a few years back and required a bit of negotiation from both sides as to how they could pull it off.

Disney Channel productions cross over all the time, its sort of a rule.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch did it too, with Salem going across all the shows that night transporting them to a different era. The Teen Angel episode is the only one of them I've actually seen though, and the Sabrina episode on DVD has a different ending to the one CITV and Nickelodeon showed (which was the one to tie it into the crossover, whereas the ending on the DVD was the one meant for standalone viewings).

Was a bit confusing as the other three shows were all on the Disney Channel rather than Nickelodeon or CITV (though CITV did eventually pick up Teen Angel- 6 years after it was made), so nobody in the UK would really have seen the crossover properly, even though CITV and Nick broadcast the version of the episode that led into it.

The Seth Macfarlene shows did one about a hurricane which had to be delayed due to a hurricane.

Little Britain cameos in Neighbours was a weird one.

Midsummer Murders did one with one of the Scandinavian dramas, I believe.

8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown is probably the most successful TV crossover.

Its not the only crossover Sabrina did, I believe there is one with Boy meets world.

It's the same crossover. Boy Meets World was one of the shows it crossed over with that night.
