Hi
Just before 1:15 my freeview went down and said no signal i check analogue and it was fine. Turned box off and back on still no signal. Checked back on analogue and it was just a blue screen. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if its just a local fault. I havent seen the news this evening so dont know if there is planned engineering work in the region.

Thanks richard h

No, Emley Moor was off the air for a routine mast inspection, and aircraft warning lights check.

Seems they've moved some regions/subregions back to Astra 2B (and made them FTV) which means that the frequencies we have stored are no longer valid, and they'll have remapped 103 in those regions.

How can I retune for ITV Yorkshire E please?

Speaking of ITV Yorkshire sub-regions...

I'm sure that when the fully-split 1800 Calendar was launched, ITVplc were officially referring to the two sub-regions as "North" and "South" in their launch blurb. Yet, having very recently got Sky, they seems to have then as "ITV1 Yorks (W)" and "ITV1 Yorks (E)"!

Is there no hard-and-fast rule on what the two YTV sub-regions should be known as?

Similarly, I'm surprised that the Sky EPG hasn't renamed "Central (S)" and "Meridian (N)" as "Thames Valley (N)" and "...(S)" respectively, by now.

Also, why are there three Meridians (E, SE, and S)? Presumably one of them is strictly an advertising sub-region? If so, which geographic areas do the three relate to? Is it the "South" or "South East" version of Meridian News that has two advertising sub-regions?

IIRC, the Yorkshire sub-regions became available on Sky back in the days when there were short opts for Emley, Belmont and Sheffield. However, the Sheffield opt (South) was never available on Sky.

Traditionally, the Emley opt, if named on air, was referred to as 'West'. For a while, even the YTV weather carried, legends such as 'West Tomorrow / West Temperatures' at the top of the screen for the Emley version of the forecast. Must have been a bit confusing for those watching in Scarborough!

Consequently the regions on Sky were named ITV1 Yorks West and ITV1 Yorks East.

Describing the areas as North / South only came about after the full programme split, and the joining of the Belmont and Sheffield opts. Clearly no-one's bothered to change the names on DSat though.

Doesn't YTV South still exist for advertising reason?
