England win Euro 2021 (let's call it for what it is rather than keeping Euro 2020 please) and we do well at the 2021 Olympics.

Don't you mean Nick Hewer's replacement?

Mostly not entirely serious:
-Homes Under the Hammer is embroiled in scandal over celebrating exorbitant rents being charged for run down properties and is promptly cancelled
-A major shopping channel is found to be misleading it's customers causing OFCOM to launch a review into their continued existence
-BBC 3 returns to linear TV, with it's current affairs output being centred around a weekly debate programme featuring Tom Harwood and Ash Sarkar
-Dateline London is quietly scrapped without comment until 4 weeks later when it is noticed that it is no longer in the schedules
-GMB goes 6 days a week with Piers and Susannah presenting Monday-Wednesday and Simon McCoy and Kay Burley presenting Thursday-Saturday
-Ranvir Singh joins Channel 4 as lead presenter of countdown and co-anchor of channel 4 news from Leeds
-Channel 5 officially move one of their daily news bulletins to Yorkshire following successful trials over the past couple of months

Josh posted:
BBC Parliament won't get rebranded with Reith, but the BBC News website finally will be (fully).
A BBC channel shuts down.
Piers Morgan leaves/is fired from GMB.
Channel 5 repeat yet another programme under a new name.

One of these is highly accurate.

- At least one BBC Breakfast presenter leaves
- The duty BBC News channel presenter to host all BBC One simulcast bulletins on a Saturday
- More knocked off end boards appear on BBC One
- The wrong BBC One logo to appear on at least one promo/end board/regional graphic
- Sky News finally receives a graphics refresh
- Kay Burley to return to Sky News in her old Afternoon slot, rather than Breakfast
- Adam Bolton departs Sky News
- Alastair Stewart announced as a presenter on the new GB News channel.

Here's a wishful thinking longshot, the regions will finally start broadcasting their local news programmes on BBC One HD and we'll really see how ropey some of the sets are. Very Happy

I am going to make a prediction: BBC Three returns as a TV channel!

Predictions 2021:

- All BBC regions finally go HD.
- BBC Red Button launches a separate stream dedicated to Coronavirus Updates.
- Danny Boyle plans a Covid based film for Netflix.
- A 'Royal' takes part in The Masked Singer but Twitter outrage as nobody has heard of them.
- Another series of Birds of A Feather is commissioned on ITV but controversially without Pauline Quirke, who has announced her retirement from acting. Joe Wicks appears as a special guest star in one episode but can't act.
- BBC1 finally drops Oneness branding.
- Kay Burley decides not to return to Sky News but does a special investigative documentary for ITV Tonight on rule breaking.
- BBC Four dedicates an evening to Sir Michael Parkinson for the 50th anniversary of his talk show.
- Matt Hancock steps down as health secretary due to 'excessive stress', BBC News delays a special EastEnders to announce this news causing uproar by viewers.
- Blackadder returns for Red Nose Day although the telethon itself is dropped.
- Iceland win Eurovision 2021 in a reduced capacity venue.
- Covid infection numbers reduce dramatically by June, Sporting venues allowed to reopen fully including Wimbledon in the first full crowd televised event since 2020. Many think it's still too soon and there are huge concerns over Euro 2021.
- Shane Richie returns to EastEnders even though there is no where for his character to go but somehow he gets involved with Sharon etc etc.
- Vernon Kay returns to ITV to present a new quiz show
- Revamped Question of Sport launches.

Sorry to bring this thread back into commission, but here are my (sort of) semi-realistic predictions for TV in 2021:

• BBC One launches a new look and ditches Oneness (although not initially, making forumers annoyed for first half of the year)
• BBC Two keeps the “Channel of the Year” tagline on its idents throughout the year
• Challenge is closed down after repeating episodes of The Chase too many times
• BGT auditions are held virtually for the first time due to the pandemic
• I’m A Celebrity to stay in Wales for 2021
• The Weakest Link is revived by the BBC (potentially with Judge Rinder as host)
• Steph’s Packed Lunch axed by Channel 4 - but Steph McGovern becomes new host of Countdown as compensation
• The Wheel and Winning Combination are both renewed following their successful first series
• BBC News introduces new titles - main graphics remain the same
• Iceland win Eurovision 2021 in a reduced capacity/audience-free arena
• BBC Sport hosts Euro 2021 and Olympics coverage from their Salford studio with some links from selected reporters in Tokyo

Happy 2021 (hopefully!) Very Happy

Challenge is replaced by Sky Chase;
BBC Three returning to tele;
BBC One to keep Oneness as a form of spite;
Channel 5 becomes a shoddy documentaries channel, with only 5 minutes of news per day;
4Music removes all music related content and replaces it with literal rubbish;
ITV launches ITV Channel TV HD, but nobody in the Channel Islands can pick up the new channel in the first place and all the good channels are either shut down or moved online.

Sorry for bumping, and wish you all a happy 2021!

In an attempt to help promote Staycations in Britain over Summer 2021, The BBC commison a revival of Holiday to air in late Spring, or have it as a segment on The One Show.

The chances of Holiday being revived is as likely as ITV commissioning Wish You Were Here, zilch.
