Disney XD Europe, Middle East & Africa operations are interesting because they have recently (earlier this year) been unified schedule-wise, something happened last year with Disney Junior Western European operations (this year even other EMEA operations have been unified); be careful though, only schedules, with some local opt-outs, have been unified, not the whole operations, although some have been merged, like Disney Junior and Disney XD in France and Germany, à la ARTE
Only Disney XD Netherlands (because of its importance as a FTA channel, timesharing with Veronica) and Disney Israel operations (because of their insularity) have been spared
This is quite odd for a British channel. BTW, the graphics, the promos of these new "pan" channels are created in-house in the UK
So, this move makes understand that Disney XD should remain as such and not close down, in the UK and likely elsewhere
The US is a very different marked compared to most European ones (and I very doubt that Disney XD in the US will close down, especially as Disney XD is on a higher package than the main Disney Channel in the US, so it's understandable DC US wants to showcase the best of its stuff on the main most watched channel
BUt this is not problem for countries like the UK, Germany and Italy, where these channels are on the same Family package
I wonder could we see Disney close Disney XD worldwide? It is closing soon in Australia and Disney have moved shows from Disney XD to the main Disney in the US.
In Australia and NZ the channel has never been successful because it launched too late
