TV Channel Predictions 2018

ITV to buy Sky News and subcontract all news output. ITV becomes a fully fledged national network and uses old news slots for drama and films.

They have had a desk, now coffee table, it must be bar stools next with just stand up presentation for 2018.

Some of these predictions are bizzare

Not going to happen.

-Panorama to move to Twitter
-Gardening and music to combine
-Sport and food to combine
-Fiona Bruce and Sophie Raworth to combine
-BBC One to move to BBC Two
-BBC Two to move to BBC Four
-BBC Four to move to BBC Three
-BBC Three to move somewhere else

Sky HQ to be refurbished to look like Disney's Cinderella castle and the old news centre to be turned into a tourist attraction flogging mouse ears and other tat.

RTÉ One to replace its eleven year old idents... hopefully!

Don't hold your breath.

Fox are allowed to acquire Sky Plc after Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox. This despite the issues raised around the culture of sexual harassment at Fox News.
More cuts at Made TV. Made in Tyne & Wear and Teesside rebrand as Made in (the) North East.
That's TV acquire Latest TV in Brighton.
Not so much a prediction as some is already based in fact. iPlayer VOD upgraded to 1080/50 with some in 4K. Live streams upgraded to 1080/25.
TV Player axe the recordings service and in return have all PLUS channels on every platform for a higher price.
London Live joins TVPlayer.

Most of these "predictions" are in fact "fantasies".

BBC to announce "look we're not being funny or anything but the fact of the matter is this is about BBC One identifying what shows we do most of best and finding fewer ways of doing more of it less."

Probably not but its just a bit of fun.
