I fail to see what this has to do with TV presentation.

Are you playing amateur doctor and/or psychiatrist? Let me play.
Advice: Turn off your computer and sit alone for 5 minutes. Take a deep breath and relax. If the symptoms persist, consult your GP.
Advice: Don't make any rash decisions. Try to take time out for yourself when you feel you need it. If the suicidal feelings persist, consult your GP.
Advice: Brain ache can be caused by a number of things. Although its very rare for brain ache to be caused by someone posting to an Internet forum, this may be possible in extreme cases. Try to relax and avoid stressful situations. If the aching persists, consult your GP.
I've been through three boxes of stress pills today and it's only 5 o'clock!
Advice: Consult your local A&E department immediately. If this addiction persists, consult your local drug therapy centre.
Advice: I would take a course of paracetamol. If the headaches persist after 3 days consult your GP.
This post and the advice offered within should not be used as a substitute for regular check ups with your GP.

Isn't there a condition called "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" or something? The fact that you've been creating a useless code system for television networks for the last 25 years or whatever (your story on discovering your personal Da Vinci code was... unique to say the least) is abnormal, I guess you could say. And the way you get angry whenever Sky change their EPG order because it messes up your system is bizarre. Have you seen a doctor about all this?

Can we just lock this ridiculous thread once and for all, TW hasn't got it into his thick head that this is a ridiculous idea, to the point the person who he suggested it to got a headache.

:-(
Although i feel having these codes are utterly pointless, why are people getting so upset about it? Why not just ignore the thread?

Thanks a million davidlees. Your post had me killing myself with laughter.
I'm NOT forcing any of you lot to use the codes, they are just an alternative means of referring to the channels if you want to use them. If you prefer to use Sky EPG 3 digit numbers (4 in the case of radio stations on Sky) then be my guest. If you want to call by their full names, go ahead.

I've decided to confine my usage of these codes on TV Forum to this dedicated TV Channel Codes thread. Haven't you noticed me now using "BBC1" and "BBC2" in my latest post on the "BBC Two Rebrand - February 2007" thread?

Tumbly Wumbly, stop using the codes in public. It's annoying. Writing the out only uses a few more characters than the code. In the case of BBC and ITV it's only 2 letters more.

Please, no more discussion about channel shorthand codes unless it appears in a dedicated thread where other members can choose to post in (or not).
Posts should be comprehensible and if shorthand like B1 makes a post more difficult to read then, to me, it's defeating the object of maximising the number of people who want to read it.
"C4" and "C5" are widely used and understood abbreviations, "DHD" isn't. Simple as that.

Why don't you confine your useage of your computer to paying your gas bill on internet banking, then stick your head in the oven?
