TV Channel Closures

Right, to start this topic off

Bravo fell off air during an ident (I'm sure that it was end of one) as this shows https://theident.gallery/player.php?id=BRAVO-2010-END-1

But I want to know:

How did other TV channels close eg: PopGirl, BBC Three and Channel One (Sky)?

IIRC Channel One died in the same way many of Sky's unwanted adopted children die; an ident followed by a slide, providing the feed doesn't instantly stop and prompt a "There is a technical fault with this channel" message.

Well BBC Three closed down by basically ending with a Gavin and Stacey epsiode and then a promo for the BBC Three program Thirteen which was going to air online only and then a caption saying that the channel had moved online

...followed by several weeks of hush-hush repeats in the middle of the night. This was the actual last night of programming.
