'The Thin Blue Line' repeats on UKTV are definately edited. I noticed on one episode, a whole chunk was cut out.

But if you buy the DVD, you'll notice that the episodes on there are anywhere up to five minutes longer than the versions that originally went out on the BBC. So assuming UKTV are using the same copies, they'll have originally been edited for time.

UKTV are terrible for editing programmes in order to fit them to time. I remember watching The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer on UKTV G2 which had huge chunks missing, including some sketches which jokes later in the programme relied on for them to make sense.

No need for censoring. If you do not like something do not watch it.

That isn't the point, we like to watch the programmes they inconvience us by cutting silly little things that they say might offend us. Rolling Eyes

Censoring on Friends on E4 never seems to make that much sence. I have just been watching friends. They edit out the word porn. Is this a swaer word? Is this word used on the news? Is this a word that cannot be shown on digital TV at 8pm?

Then later they leave in the word arse. This seems quite absurd.... anyone know why they do it like this?

I remember watching the series 9 finale of Friends a few months ago on E4 where they go to barbados to watch Ross's speach. On the DVD there's a scene where Rachel and Joey are laughing at the words "homo" and "erectus" Joey's line with the word "erectus" is left out and the line where Joey sees Rachel giggling at the word "homo" was left in.

And apparently according to C4 some things offend us this year but didn't last year such as the line in "The One With The Videotape " where Chandler says "that's the story you tell when you want to have sex " which has been cut out on transmission this evening but I recall it being in the episode when broadcast before in the same slot

That's not the only episode I have noticed additional censoring occuring in.
