Just thought about this whilst watching MTV.
When TV-am stopped broadcasting from Camden Lock Dec 92, MTV bought the HQ, how long did it take for MTV UK to start broadcasting from there again?

The building was sold to MTV Europe in 1993.
MTV didn't start "MTV UK" as such until 1997 but the Camden Lock building (still with the famous eggs on the roof) houses MTV's European operations and all the TV channels under the same umbrella.

Apparently it's not any more and I've heard rumours that MTV are planning to sell up and move elsewhere at some point.

According to http://www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/ the studios themselves are being wound down, the staff have been given notice

I don't know about the listed - but if MTV are moving out, I wonder if there is a clause they have to return the building to how it looked when they bought it?

Just its recently undergone a repaint - and all the TV-am colours are back. (It had been a horrible varying shades of grey with dark blue until this repaint last month.)

Good point, a lot of buildings do have that stipulation... although, I'd have thought that would only relate to rented buildings...

Wouldn't it be great if Ian White (www.tv-am.org.uk) could buy it.

A little expensive though, I'd wager...
