He did do a comedy sketch show with Matthew Horne on BBC Three, titled Horne & Corden, but the critical response was poor and it only lasted one series.
If this does happen, as apparently the only TV Forumer who doesn't hate James Corden, I will be interested to see how he manages the jump and whether he will be a Marmite person like over here or if he will enjoy cult sucess like Ferguson does at the moment. Or, of course, if he fails terribly.
On tonight's episode of Conan on truTV (just finished) they cut to an adbreak in an unexpected (perhaps unnecessary) place. As soon as Conan had introduced the "Basic Cable: Name That Tune" segment, it crashed straight into the truTV break bumper, then an adbreak.
During the break I was thinking, if they've cut this entire segment for the sake of a few adverts, I'm going back to dodgy downloads! After the break, it cut straight to the "Basic Cable: Name That Tune" segment.
Why can't truTV place their ad-breaks in the same place as they are in the original broadcast, making the UK version seem unedited, instead of crudely crashing into an adbreak part way through a segment, or when a segment has just been introduced?
I know most channels like this are glorified automated sequences run from broadcast servers, but surely they could sort out the adbreak timings properly for imported shows, especially for a show that is supposedly the flagship show for the channel.
It was the same with CNBC and their broadcasting of The Tonight Show. It's horribly butchered and edited and they cut 30 minutes out of the full hour broadcast. Even the 45 minute showing at the weekends are badly done as well...
