Which there are plenty of examples of them doing, Celebrity Squares being another current one. But we've had this conversation before.
Once again I have to applaud itv for thinking out the box
and not going down the Schofield/Mulhern/Kay route of hosts.

I did have to question whether or not it actually was him and not someone doing the voice but he managed to convince me it was him when he sang variants of 'Star Man' when talking about the star prize.
David Bowie - really? That's quite a coup, especially for a pilot.

As they didn't invite him onstage at the end of the taping I'm still left wondering.
The warm up man (the Dale Winton lookalike) said it was a "live linkup" with Bowie but I take everything those warm up hosts say with a pinch of salt.
That would probably convince me otherwise.

Agreed. As a end of series star guest - yes (and even then doubtful unless the budget was a steller one) but on a pilot? Nope.
More likely it was Phil Cornwell or Duncan Wisby on 'not for laughs' impressions duty

It'd be very unlikely to be Bowie even if it wasn't a pilot.
It's very unlikely to be the real Bowie. It was a pilot.
