Bill Bailey according to Bother's Bar.

If so, that's an odd choice.

No, actually that is a very good choice of host. A very funny comedian who bases most of his act around music. A far better choice than playing it safe with any one ITV's usual rota of light entertainment presenters, Schofield, Kay, Mulhern ... etc.

I do not think he is funny - therefore my opinion is different to yours. I get where you're coming from though.

Inspired choice! Credit to ITV for thinking outside the box for once.

If it is Bill Bailey for "Name that Tune" then it is a truly inspired option. But what about the format of the show itself - will it be along the lines of the original "Name That Tune" or a re-hashed version of Michael Barrymore's "My Kind of Music" or even a hybrid of the two???

Never heard of her.

It was on Channel Five, by the way.

Don't think My Kind of Music had anything to do with Name that Tune - completely different format.

Talking of Barrymore rumours that Strike it Lucky is another show ITV are looking at reviving, plus an unconfirmed rumour from an unverified Twitter account that they'll do another Gameshow Marathon next year.

If Strike It Lucky is being considered, it'll be VERY easy to get wrong. Barrymore was what carried that show with his chemistry with the contestants. Hardly anybody in the business now has that ability.

Would probably suit someone like Bradley Walsh or Brian Conley.

Probably more chance of Saville being resurrected for a new CBBC run of Jim'll Fix It than Barrymore having a primetime ITV show once again.

Paul o'grady? If so there's no chance. He said in an interview a while back that he hated doing it and would never go back to doing a game show let alone Blankety Blank.

I'm on my way home from the Name That Tune pilot taping. I have to applaud Bill Bailey as host, he did a superb job and it does suit him. Tonight's guest announcer was David Bowie and he bounced off very well with Bill adlibbig through out.

The music is performed by a house band throughout the entire show.

Once again I have to applaud itv for thinking out the box and not going down the Schofield/Mulhern/Kay route of hosts.
