TSW YESTERDAY
I was always under the impression that Ed Welch composed all the TSW Today themes. However, whilst on the Musichouse website, the composer of what's known as "Watch this space" ,(TSW Today Theme), is credited as an Alan Hawkshaw composition. I'm not convinced! It's sounds like Ed Welch through and through to me!

It also lists "Topical News" on KPM433 as being for the Central region, when in fact it was used in the Westcountry region a few years back... or was it originally used in the Central region?

Yes it was Ed Welch. And if you listen, it is similar to his other synth works for TSW.

Didn't Ed Welch compose the Blockbusters theme tune as well. Or am I thinking of the wrong artist?

Some of the Music House stuff on there is sloppy. You can even find tracks that aren't properly digitised in, where one track has half the next on the end, and the next is missing half cos it's on the previous!

Infact that very track has an excellent example.. you can hear the start of an old BBC Reporting Scotland theme right at the very end.

Yes he did.
And I remember there being a TSW album at the time with all the themes he'd composed for them.

Whilst we're on the subject of TSW - does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of Will Malone's "That's Soul Write"?

Or maybe the New Forest Rondo - also one of Ed Welch's...

Nope, that was compossed by Richard Hill. However, I think the later TVS identification tune was one of of Mr. Welch's pieces.
