Whilst I fully realise this thread may be closed as soon as its been opened, I felt compelled to write about the pitiful deception pulled by a member of the original TV Horm forum. This guy, as I'm sure a few of you recall) had a similar 'trauma' not even 2 months ago - the loss of a best friend as I recall.
I smelled crap as soon as I read that message today and wondered why so many rational forum contributors jumped on-board with their condolances as quickly as they did.
It should be remembered that with a site as undoubtably popular as TV Home, a few <crazy> freaks will always be involved. Lets not play into the hands of these guys again. Lets face it: who, with a devastating loss in their family, has time to log on and say 'Why thank you everybody '
please...

I suppose that one positive thing of this is that it shows that how much we all respect each other, judging by the many replies to that thread. Some people gave genuinely heartfelt messages.
It's very sad indeed, but very odd.
I didn't post in that thread - and a lot other regular posters didn't - because of the fact that it seemed so unbelievable.
J2k - I am certain you will be reading this, and I find it very sad.
You were constantly nagging me to be moderator in the chatroom - despite the fact that there was no need for it at all. I'm just thankful I never did make you an auto mod because with your mental stablility, god only knows what you might have done.
You're pathetic j2k - and I shall be notifying DS in an attempt to have you withdrawn from the project.
No doubt people here will want an explanation as to why you felt this was needed. I expect it was simply attention seeking.

I feel compelled to apologise to all of you who passed on your condolences to j2k. I started that thread in the forum and I announced it in the chat room as he 'didn't feel up to it'. I am truly sorry I roped you all in to such a disgusting lie. I feel incredibly stupid now.

I think that the reason that not all regular members posted was because not all of us know that the forum is here! But anyway, I admit that I felt a bit surprised at his ability to come here seeing as he was in so much 'shock'. Unfortunately this has made me and probably everyone else here lose a lot of trust in other members of the forum, and I for one would be more than happy to see j2k leave.
EDIT
Don't worry about it Kev, it was a very sincere thing that you did letting us know, and we all understand that it's not down to you!
j2k took a lot of people in and the good thing as Phil said is that it shows how much respect we have for each other. It's unfortunate that some people abuse that... j2k will probably not show his face here again but I will not terminate his membership of my forum because if he wants to defend himself we should give him that chance.
It's just sad someone feels they have to do this to get attention. How sick can someone be?
it doesn't take deanna troi to work out that this is attention seeking of the most basic sort.
i would compel forum users
not
to encourage any further expidition of his nonsense.
sorry to sound like an old fart but he would just further get-off on people's interest.

Yes, but I thought he already HAD the necessary attention...after all, he was the 'Forum Addon Installer' or whatever it was...he made differences to the forum that sparked instant attention, such as the polls.
I did indeed post in that thread, but I will admit I did have my doubts because I did recall from a certain place in my mind that he was 16, but I will also admit I was deeply shocked to read such a horrific post because I do feel I know each forum member individually. Sympathy comes before logic...oh well. Can we assume he could have been this so called TV Home Hacker?
I feel the same as Prime, that when you read that first post, the shock stuns the rational part of the mind, but afterwards I did have my doubts, is he really 27, married, children, and yet he can spend as much time as he does on forums, it did seam strange. Some people cope with grief in different ways and returing to familar safe places could be normal for many people, but in this case thats clearly un-needed logic. Strange sort of attention seeking, reminds me of Big Brother last year and Nicks story! Anyway I wouldn't have thought he was the 'hacker', because the only thing that, that person did was sign up and posts stupid things, but i'm sure if he had wanted to he could have left faults in things like the polls. The whole business is very stange, i'd like to see a reply from him for the reasons nehind this wierd scam. Don't feel bad Kevin, i'm sure if anyone passed this on we would feel compelled to pass it on.
