Vintage TV are now officially in administration and their assets are up for sale... HMRC winding up order caused it apparently.

According to Companies House, an administrator was appointed today, but the company has been in administration since 2nd October.

Kapang's Vintage TV online channel has been rebranded to "Rathergood Vintage", and the DOG now states "Vintage Music" (although there are still references to Vintage TV in the channel description).

They have also removed the links they previously had to Vintage TV programmes. Kapang did previously say that they were hoping to purchase their back catalogue, so maybe they haven't been able to do this.

From what I've seen on the Facebook page, it looks like Vintage TV Canada could end up going the same way as the UK channel, as its Facebook page hasn't posted anything since August, and it sounds like its programming is stuck on a continuous loop.

Given all this now that Vintage Entertainment Ltd is in administration, it makes you wonder what will happen to their programme archive. It would be a real shame if it ended up being dumped/wiped, but then would that sort of programming be of any use/value to other broadcasters, given that there aren't really any other similar channels around? It would be nice to think it would end up somewhere like the BFI, the National Library or one of the regional archives, rather than being lost forever.

View TV Group are now planning to relaunch Vintage Music as a TV channel next year, initially launching on Sky, so there was some truth in the previous talk of Vintage TV returning to Sky:

https://www.a516digital.com/2018/12/a-new-home-for-vintage-music-to-launch.html

The new channel will have no association with the old Vintage TV, and like the online channel, will be purely music videos, and they haven't acquired the library of original programming.

In other news, it sounds like Vintage TV Canada is still going, but is now just showing a loop of the same 2 programmes (based on people's post on the Facebook page), so I think its days are numbered (in its current form).
