haha, I mean, sexier. more sex-based storylines.

You make that sound as if it is a good thing, because it is not. The soap is awful. In tonight's episode, we had a RIDICULOUS exchange between Phil and Ben, where there was an unlikely misunderrstanding. Yes, we misunderstand things, but to mix up puberty with domestic violence is just stupid.

I don't think it's a good thing, trust me, a BBC programme shouldn't drag itself down to, let's say, five's standards.

Has anyone else seen those two new ads, promoting EastEnders, which keep coming up between programmes on BBC1? One is about Dot's baby, the other about Stella and Ben. Obviously there just to drum up attention for when the soap goes five nights a week.

Really it just shows how crap the show has become (e.g. May: "It's every woman's right to have a baby." No, it's a privilege)

Do they still use the "Everybody's talking about it" line.

It's still true - just most people are saying it's ****!

I haven't seen that line for years (wonder why?)

Friday's ending, BTW, was dreadful. The acting by Kellie Shirley, who plays Carly, was absolutely dreadful. Linda Henry, who plays Shirley, deserves much more.

Dramatically, the promos are a very good idea. They seem well constructed and drive their message home, on a purely technical level.

What still troubles me is the quality of the storylines and, no matter how much publicity is denoted to it, the fundamental problem still lies with the script-writers.

I sometimes wonder what's the point of writing these posts - especially now after something like two years of non-stop complaining. My problem is still how unrealistic and almost pedantic some of the storylines are.

The Ben/Stella storyline is rushing ahead, reverting to modern methods when we were told EastEnders would be having (and I hate to use the term) 'back to basics' approach. Umm. There is certainly an excellent and effective storyline in there, I just fear it's being spolit through the seemingly rediculas rate of events.

Still, it remains to be seen if, as suggested, EastEnders goes five nights a week, whether there can be an improvement.

What a joke!

"An OAP lookin' after a baby?" Why would Phil Mitchell give a damn?! Rolling Eyes

The soap is being single handidly destroyed by these script monkeys. There's more to EastEnders? No there isn't.

I know... That's what I was thinking. If they are to do a promo, they could select something more dramatic. Nobody cares that she's harbouring an immigrant's baby. I mean, imagine the shock and the misery and pain when Albert Square finds out it's NOT Dot's baby. It's as though the producers have gone crazy with a promo for this STUPID and STALE storyline.

I wonder where this plotline is leading. Will we see Dot heading for a long court case and end up in jail?

I reckon the baby turns out to be The Bride of Chucky.. or Bride of Nick Cotton...whatever...
