LEAVE IT, IT AINT WURF IT!

You do a terrible cockney accent Gav with that scottish twang of yours! Laughing Laughing Laughing

4 years of drama school dahling, I think you would be quite surprised.

Would you say your Cockney accent is gruff like Phil Mitchell's or more like Den Watts'?

Just wonderign out of curiosity as most people outside of London seem to do one of those two when attempting to do a London accent Laughing

Depends on a lot of things.

Sometimes I sound more like Dot.

Laughing Ooh I say.

Interesting how comes you didn't take up full time acting, if you don't mind me asking?

I couldn't imagine you would be any worse than most of the cast of EastEnders Very Happy

The Tweenies?

Better actors than most of the current cast anyway.

If you look on Page 17 of 'The Sun' today, there's a small preview of Ally Ross's column in tomorrow's paper. Here's what it says:

Quote:
EastEnders writers may not be too familiar with Bow Bells. But they've certainly served up a lot of Bow Locks.

Hitting the nail on the head as always Laughing

News of the World claims that EastEnders will move to 8pm every night, with a fifth episode scheduled on Wednesdays.

If this is true, I'd imagine this would have a big effect on regional programming slots on ITV.

It certainly seems to be happening then. I know you should never believe a tabloid but Broadcast did say that they were seriously considering it, even going as far as 'undertaking a feasibility test to assess the impact on the production schedule'.

All I can say is if they do then it has to be the final nail in the coffin. Everybody knows that the quality began to drop when a fourth episode was added. A fifth will not improve anything except BBC One's audience share on a Wednesday evening. But then, that's all they seem to care about otherwise they wouldn't be doing it.

There are no regional slots on ITV1 at that time.

Yep, I think there's too much smoke for there to be no fire. BBC1 appears to be becoming increasingly ratings driven, so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Not so sure about 8pm every night though.

Well no, but I can't see regional programmes staying at 7.30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays if they're not up against EastEnders.

So then the question is would they move them to 8pm or ditch them out of primetime all together? Maybe start The Bill at 7.30pm?

All speculation at the moment of course Laughing

Agree speculation, but TV companies don't like to tinker with primetime too much. There is a definite break at 8pm, they cannot bring forward programmes like The Bill without a compromise in writing. There is an assumed older audience after 8pm, and the formal watershed at 9pm.

BBC would not place EE at 8pm regularly for so many reasons. If you produce a soap on such a regular basis (5 days a week) then it is normally of lower quality (no insult intended, but the like of Hollyoaks, Neighbours, H&A, Doctors). I love Hollyoaks, but it doesn't deserve an 8pm slot - it's brain fodder after work.

Corrie already push it at so many episodes a week, but at least it's not everyday.
