Virgin Media Television will close its Trouble channel and replace it with another version of Living, it has emerged.

I don't think Trouble's programming would sit easily in any of the other VM channels, although it's not clear where 'LIVING3' will be aimed. Virgin 1 already has a rather limited schedule because of the restriction on Freeview to 12 hours which is then largely repeated.

The viewing figures for Trouble aren't much different to those for Bravo2, so perhaps that could be next for the axe if someone is wielding one at VM HQ.
(BARB: Top 10 for both range between 20-50,000)

Were Virgin trying to off-load these channels or is it just their stake in UKTV that's up for grabs?

Not too surprised really - I think Trouble has struggled for the last few years to have a strong identity whilst it's target audience have been looking elsewhere for programmes.

I think you're right. It has seemed like the channel doesn't really know what it is. On Sky you have to subscribe to the Children's mix to view it, but it's included in the General Entertainment section of the EPG.

That is the only programme I've only ever sat down and watched on Trouble, nothing else at all. Not much of a surprise they're rebranding it, in the last few years it's just mainly reruns of US comedies and dramas.

As much as I loved Trouble for Fresh Prince and My Wife and Kids, they're both on Virgin 1 IIRC. The onlt thing I'd potentially miss is Diff'rent Strokes, but it's been a good long while since I've watched Trouble anyway.

There's no mention of a 'LIVING3' in the DS article, as far as I can see it'll be replaced with LIVING2 +1. Incidentally the UKTV channels now sound much like the Virgin Media channel names (excluding Virgin 1).

LIVING2 +1 actually replaced Trouble +1, I think the DS article suggests that it will be a LIVING branded channel, and LIVING2 being renamed aswell.
