Well just before the News, on Granada we just got a Transmitter Information' slide, this must be a first for a region that isn't part of the ITV1 branding, if they do this, they usually do it during the News, but nope, we had it on a slide with the squares background, and that annoying woman announcer.

I am suprised they actually made the announcement or that they could be bothered to make one, though they are usually more common on stations like Scottish and Grampian.

Though I think there is a good reason to, as Winter Hill is going to be switched off for '3 hours during Night Time' apparently.

Any other regions had one yet?

maybe they're going to boost winter hill A and switch winter hill B off. It's annoying me because on MUXA and MUXB i get 2 copies of the channels on my dvb-t pci card. :s

Well it got a repeat showing at 11.05pm before the film and it replaced the normal ITV1 ident, so I guess it must be like 12am like you said Dave.

I wonder if it will affect NTL? As I think they take their feed of DTT..

Yup, as I said earlier it was that really annoying woman announcer who tries to be your friend whilst announcing.

I had a look on ITV1 Granada Text last night and it said there would be a 3 hour shutdown anytime between 12am and 6am on all UHF services, though from what it looked like I think it is happening again tonight.

So it was deliberate then! I was watching Mean Streets and got almost to the end - Robert Dr Niro had just got shot in the neck when they turned the transmitter off. Great timing.

Probably the last part of regionality that I can remember came in Summer 2000 when some technical hitch took the Sandy Heath transmitter down for a few hours on Sunday primetime. As a good will gesture, Anglia repeated the programmes on Monday evening at around 11pm. I can't see that happening nowadays unless the advertisers, shareholders moan. Afterall the gbp are second best in ITV.
